Just sent a client to PCIP and the 2011 PCIP rates are lower than 2010. Anyone know why?

Illinois has substantially reduced the premium for the $2,000 deductible plan and added a $1,000 deductible tier. Also, children with Pre-existing are now eligible to apply.

Ref: Illinois Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (IPXP)

Good rates, but the application process is typical government. Takes 5 minutes to complete the app, but 5 hours to obtain and mail the proof of residency, proof of pre-existing condition & proof of non-smoker documentation to them.

CORRECTION TO ABOVE POST:

ONLY the Age 0 to 18 premiums have been reduced here in Illinois.. (From $135 to $119). I suppose the $1,000 deductible was added for 2011 because the $2,000 deductible policy didn't sell well in 2010!
