Wow, my dad died from early onset Alzheimer's at age 64 in 1988.
If these statistics are correct, finding a cure is the only answer, along with the cause.

They lump caregiving into the statistics by saying a large and growing % of Medicare/Medicaid funds go for caregiving related to Alzheimers.
Alzheimers may endanger Medicare, but the problem is so much more with Medicaid for custodial care costs, not medical.

Very true about Medicaid I wish we would be more accurate in our national healthcare debate about block grants for Medicaid--always blaming
the poor and immigrants for Medicaid's high costs when in my state as well as others custodial nursing and care for the totally disabled soaks up 67% of the budget!! That never gets mentioned by the left or the right!!!!!
