hi, can you negotiate hospital bill?
I have deductible $1500
out of pocket $5500

had c section and received the bill for $3900

is there a way to negotiate to lower the bill?

Do you have REAL insurance? If so, your carrier should have a repricing agreement in effect for COVERED claims.

If you can't pay the balance the hospital MAY have a financing option.

$3900 for hospital inpatient doesn't sound unreasonable even with a $1500 deductible. What does your carrier EOB show?

Of course you can - I have seen many of my clients out if pocket bills negotiated down.....all you have to do is ask ! Hospitals are more negotiable since the 2020 shut down.....

If you submit a claim to your insurance company, and it is approved, at the negotiated network discount rate, and then goes towards your deductible.....then.....you can NOT negotiate, as the hospital is legally bound to the contracted price.

At $3900, I will bet that is the network negotiated rate and should be thankful for such a low price.
