Image Alt Tags

Help me out fellas! Is there an easy way to do this? I have the SEO Friendly Images plugin but I already have my photos inserted into the WP site.

Do I need to delete them off the website, rename them on my computer, and upload/insert them back into my website?

For example, let's say I have an image that was named 0001.jpg for some picture. That picture is of the outline of coverage. Do I save it as: Outline of Coverage or some other keyword phrase I'm targeting?

You don't need to delete the images, if you go to the page/post you have them on and click on it in the editor then click in the thing at the top left of the picture next to the circle with a slash through it then it will show you the fields that you can edit. Search engines can't tell what a picture is (yet), so that's how you name it. If you're targeting specific keywords, that's a good place to put them. If you "over optimize" it can hurt you.
