Medicare Part A Benefit Period Deductible

200/m premium F plan vs an MAPD OOP. i'll take the F plan all day

I don't think that is what this thread is about.

I think this thread is about Medicare vs Medicare+plan F in the specific case of a patient admitted to hospice.

The Way I would look at it, If the person does not survive and would have had all cost covered by Medicare how long could he have lasted a month or 2 maybe 3? So what $600 at most to pay just in case other things would have been charged well worth it. I mean why stress over trying to save a couple hundred dollars and taking a chance, when there are maybe's involved, I mean there is enough to worry about with just the situation, why add maybe's to the financial situation

If the person has a chance at surviving then the would be even more happy they did not cancel

If the person survives and goes into nursing home then at that time go ahead and do the Medicaid MA thing

I have strongly suggested keeping the Medigap. If she cancels it isn't my problem. I can't force her to keep it.
