Medicare vs Health Insurance Exchange

That’s freakin disgraceful. That’s why self employed people cheat like hell on their tax returns . Somebody steps off a boat and gets free fu**in health ins .Why would anyone pay taxes so they can give foreigners getting off boats free shit .A family of 3 makes $100 k and has a $9 k deductible and it costs them $900 a month . Bring Trump back !!!! Lol

I agree that this is screwed up. Regardless of immigration, it sounds like a citizen who needs to pay part A premiums can stay on ACA forever in CA.

So they loaded up the truck and moved to Beverly......Hills! that is  Today's version. So they got on the boat to get a bunch of free sh*#!

Every US citizen and lawful resident alien who is age 65 or older is ELIGIBLE for Medicare.

If you are not married to a person who is "fully insured" for Social Security (regardless of their age), and have not personally accumulated 40 credits ("fully insured") only means you will have to pay a premium for Part A -- there is one monthly premium for persons with 30-39 credits ($278 in 2023), and a higher monthly premium ($506) for those with less than 30). Every Medicare beneficiary pays a premium for Part B. Persons 65 and older who are otherwise eligible for Medicare (premium-free or not) are INELIGIBLE for premium tax credits to cover some of the cost of individual health insurance. Certain widows/widowers/divorcees may be eligible for premium-free Medicare Part A if they were married for a specific period of time to a person who was fully insured, and have not remarried since that person's death. Contact Social Security for the answer to your specific situation.

So your saying when someone turns 65 and has to pay for part A they can opt to stay on aca for life ?
Persons who are eligible for premium-pay Medicare Part A are NOT eligible for premium tax credits. They must enroll in Medicare and pay the Part A and Part B premiums, or purchase commercial health insurance without premium tax credits. (Hint: Premium-pay Medicare will be more than $1,000 LESS per month than full-cost individual health insurance at and after age 65.)

Except for immigrants who have not satisfied the residency requirement.

To be eligible for any Medicare benefits, these individuals must 1) be lawful permanent residents (LPR, holding a green card) and 2) have five years of continuous residence in the United States immediately prior to Medicare enrollment.

Thanks for playing, we have a nice parting gift for you . . .
