Need Northwestern Mutual & Met Life Dividend Histories

I have proposed a Met Life Promise Whole Life policy and am in competition with Northwestern Mutual. NM agent stated that NM has higher dividend rate since they are a mutual company versus Met Life which is a stock company. Any insights into this statement? Are dividend histories available for each carrier and if so can they be compared to one another without knowledgement of the other factors at play such as insurance charges and crediting methods?

Call them up and ask for it. That said, you're right. They are basically impossible to compare against each other. You might as well call Mass and Guardian and ask for theirs.

Which illustration looks better, the Met or the NWM?

Who cares about dividends until the underwriting has been done.

If NWM issues at Standard and Metlife issues at Preferred... doesn't that change the story?

Illustrations are designed to CONFUSE prospects. They are not sales literature, nor are they guaranteed (the non-guaranteed elements of course).

In fact, you might want to just compare the guarantees and see whose guarantees look better... according to the underwriting classification.

Does anyone know the 2015 crediting rate for Northwestern Mutual whole life and NML fixed universal life? Typically announced in October each year.
