Need Suggestion for Individual Policy in NY

In all fairness point the finger where it should be pointed. I had nothing to do with Obamacare sticking around.

I presume you didn't vote Obama or anyone that supported it then?

Imagine a world where insurance-forums.net wrote public policy. :D

I think we wouldn't have time to write the public policy with us getting into fights and disagreeing. Getting insurance-forums.net people together to agree on anything is like herding around a bunch of cats.

New York is a guarantee issue state, meaning coverage is issued to all takers regardless of health. The consequence for healthy people is that premiums are unaffordable, and people look at ways to roll the dice.

You can move to another state and get a far more affordable policy - if you qualify medically. But the advantage goes away in 2014.

kheyknee,

What do you mean NY is a guarantee issue state? I know I can drop or pick-up my BC/BS hospital plan at any time, but if I have a pre-existing condition I'm SOL. When I buy it I'd have to wait something like 2 years for the pre-existing condition to be treated and paid for by the insurance company.
