Re: 2009 Health Insurance Lead Ratings...Midyear UpdateGo to Top
Lately the ASAP Quotes have become pretty whored out! I call as soon as the lead hit my email box and the response that I'm getting is you are @#$%#@ person to call me. I'm also receiving duplicates from Insureme at the same exact time. It seems they swap leads together.
Re: 2009 Health Insurance Lead Ratings...Midyear UpdateGo to Top
I have noticed that ASAP leads seem to be going to a lot more agents. Just today, I spoke to somebody who pointed out 12 different agents that called his number during the first hour or so.
The buying and reselling of leads seems to be getting worse...I think.
Re: 2009 Health Insurance Lead Ratings...Midyear UpdateGo to Top
Never tried them. Interesting, although, I assume, oversold.
NETQUOTE HEALTH UPDATE:
The "bad lead" percentage (based on my last 14 leads) is now 50%. The norm is about 30%. Netquote is good about providing credits if you have the proper documentation.

I never thought the day would come, but I'm writing more off of the free aetna leads than the ones that I purchase, and the only reason, is over half of what I'm getting these days on purchased leads are phony.
Of the last 5 purchased leads I received, 1 legitimate and I placed in H1 policy. 3 mix matched phone numbers and addresses - fake addresses matched with phone numbers of people who called back just to let me know they were not intended party. 1 smart alec insurance agent that started laughing when I called.
I've gotten better at leaving my contact info. with what I suspect are fake leads and encouraging them to call me back and let me know what the HE double hockey sticks is going on.
One was supposedly for a 29 year old party girl and a 40 something woman MD called back to let me know it wasn't her, but was very sweet about it.
All I have to have is a real insurance inquiry and I that's it. It can be shared 25 times, I don't freakin care, I'll make $$. But these fake affiliate leads are absolutely worthless and the people doing this stuff need to get into trouble.

Re: 2009 Health Insurance Lead Ratings...Midyear UpdateGo to Top
But I thought the free Aetna leads are just PZ leads. In my case, Aetna just deposited money in my Norvax account and I was treated to the same low-quality PZ leads I have come to expect. Of course, since they were free...no credits.
Re: 2009 Health Insurance Lead Ratings...Midyear UpdateGo to Top
When I was getting free UHC leads from PZ (before they offered the cash option) I could get credits. Haven't tried it with Aetna PZ leads but if I never call them how would I know if they are bogus or not?
Re: 2009 Health Insurance Lead Ratings...Midyear UpdateGo to Top
I get the free leads from USPC and I've credited 120 leads in the last 7 months....and I usually cap it at 2 a day. I probably send back 25% of my leads for one reason or another.
Re: 2009 Health Insurance Lead Ratings...Midyear UpdateGo to Top
UPDATE: Netquote "bad leads" now ABOVE 50%. They have been very good about providing credits, as long as I document the problem.
I have also noticed an increase in "bad leads" with ASAP. To their credit also, they are very good about crediting bad leads if you can document. ASAP also will credit uninsurables while NQ will not.

Netquote Update...Again!
Effective August 1, 2009, NetQuote is reducing the number of agents receiving a unique Health lead from a maximum of 8 agents to a maximum of 5 agents.
Also...Preferred health lead prices are increasing by 14%.
My concern is that if these leads are resold and rebought, the "5" max means nothing.

A few changes in this year's ratings. Instead of using my personal experiences, I used many people's comments and input (from 16 different states). Thus, I may personally disagree with some of the generalized comments, but the majority rules.
Companies are listed in alphabetical order and I tried to stay away from comparing one company to another. Also...keep in mind that the comments posted are OPINIONS of many brokers and should not be construed (or misconstrued) with scientific factual data.
Your results may be different, so if your ROI meets your expectations…keep using that lead vendor.
And finally…many lead vendors sell their services on this forum. Clearly, they have an agenda. If their comments are not in the “Offers” section (where they belong), discount those comments and seek unbiased opinions from other experienced members of the forum. Exceptions are responses to questions or comments about their particular lead service.
OK…Here We Go!
ALLWebLeads Consensus is that leads are oversold and quality is sub-par. Some issues seem to be key words they use to attract customers. On April 15th, the VP of Corporate Marketing was nice enough to post on the forum. He said he “will look into what is going on.” That’s the last we heard from him.
ASAP Based in Texas, this relatively small company claims their leads are search-engine driven only. They say they do not use affiliates, but have "key partners" they do business with. Prospect Zone and Netquote may be two of those partners. Lead quality has suffered a tad over the last few months. Credit policy is still consistent, and response time to requests is good. They still get a passing grade, but concern still exists regarding their “partners.”
Benepath Some brokers swear by Benepath. Some brokers swear at Benepath. Generally, brokers have an unfavorable impression of Benepath. Billing issues are often mentioned…although that’s common with many lead companies.
HometownQuotes Most brokers who use them have relatively little to say...good or bad. Lead quality seems to be diminishing and the pesky EHealth link is quite prominent (or, at least it used to be). Common complaint is that many more brokers are receiving the lead than what is stated. Most brokers are NOT located in the hometown of the prospect.
InsuraceLeads.Com (formerly QuotesAuction) Generally negative reaction. Leads are below average in quality and many brokers complain that leads are vastly oversold. Nothing stands out with this company and repeat business is low.
InsuranceLeadz.com Recent posts on forum indicated lead quality still in question. My experience with them was unremarkable. Not a lot of broker activity. Same company as Insuranceagents.com. Incomplete grade.
InsureMe Formerly Insurance Shopping Network. Similar to Netquote although not as much volume. Do they resell leads? It appears they have a "partner relationship" with ProspectZone, which should be of grave concern. Credit policy is immediate and fair. Base cost of leads is fair, but addition of filters raises their price to uncompetitive levels. EHealth quite prominent when customers receive emails. (NOTE- No update since Jan 2009)
LeadCo An innovative company that offers, in most cases. quality leads. Oddly, most brokers seem satisfied with Leadco, but don't buy a high volume of leads from them. Their target (at least the result) is NOT the self-employed, despite what is stated on their website. Lead availability seems to be an issue. They say some of their leads are “non-solicited.” I wonder how.
MostChoice Until a few months ago, the most talked-about lead company on the Forum. Brokers don't seem to like MostChoice (most, that is). And the $500 upfront fee scares away many other brokers. A small sampling of results indicates those that tried MostChoice did not stay long. Lead quality was the major concern from those that left MostChoice.
NetQuote Quantity is rarely a problem with them. In many states, you can expect up to 20 leads per day, unless you reduce your target area. Quality seems to be a concern. Major usage of affiliates, and often up to eight brokers receive the lead. Credit policy is no longer fair since health conditions are NOT credited. As I have said many times..."Some of the best leads and some of the worst leads come from Netquote." Until they clamp down on affiliates (not lip service), brokers will continue to complain.
PreciseLeads.com Not enough broker response to form an opinion.
ProspectZone Nearly unanimous that their shared leads are very low quality. Their exclusive leads are a bit better, but most brokers still shy away from them. It's fairly clear that Norvax has a great product...but lead-generation is not their forte. Speaking of other Chicago based entities such as Matt Forte... Thumbs down for PZ. (NOTE-No Update since Jan 2009)
Vimo Similar to Netquote, some leads are excellent, and others must have been searching "free health insurance for the disabled." Volume seems to shift, depending on the month. Credit policy is above average. Customer Service is generally done via email, but response time is above average. They say they cap the number of brokers who receive the leads at four. Many brokers disagree with that assertion. Passing grade.
Zipsearch Definitely a common denominator here. "I used to use them" is what most brokers said. Results seemed to be mixed, but lead quality and ROI were major concerns that were apparently not taken care of. (NOTE-No update since Jan 2009
Hi,
I was wondering on what you base your statement:
"LeadCo An innovative company that offers, in most cases. quality leads"
In my personal experience all the providers are the same.
Re: 2009 Health Insurance Lead Ratings...Midyear UpdateGo to Top
I based that statement on comments from other brokers and my personal experience with them. I have had an account with them for about 3-5 years (I believe).
All providers are not the same. Some are bad. Some are worse. But some are decent.
Re: 2009 Health Insurance Lead Ratings...Midyear UpdateGo to Top
I've shut off my InsuranceLeadz.com account for now. They recently switched their system over to InsuranceAgents.com and royally screwed everything up. I had $14.50 exclusive health leads, and somehow they started charging me $37 for shared auto leads.
My CS rep over there says that they're working on fixing everything, but my advice: if you're thinking about giving them a shot, wait for them to work out the kinks in the new system first.

I've been using Leadco for about a month now and had very good results for the limited money I've deposited. My ROI as of now with $100 left of the original $200 I put in is probably around 18-1. Even if I don't sell a single other policy it would be 9-1....hard to argue with that. The only downside is that I've gotten a lot of leads for single people instead of families, I'm not sure if you can filter for that or not.
Re: 2009 Health Insurance Lead Ratings...Midyear UpdateGo to Top
Which category have you been getting a 1-18 ROI on? Health, life, final exp.? Also, has anyone ever used Health Leads Now? The auto-dialer to small businesses sounds like a feasible marketing approach and their site seems very honest as far as the returns are concerned.

I used to strongly recommend Health Leads Now. However, I have completely changed my tune. Far too many glitches to forgive.
As far as using an auto dialer for life and final expense - forget it. Illegal as of September.
You'be be better off getting a Mojo dialer, get a DNC compliant list and call yourself.

I am only getting health insurance leads. I have received about 12 or 13 valid leads and have sold one $800/month health insurance policy, one $120/month health policy, one $350/month health policy, and the $120/month policy is also interested in disability, which would be another $2000-4000 if he can qualify and accepts it. These leads have cost me less than $100 so far.
