2009 MA Commission, Part 6             Go to Top

recd this yesterday

Dear Agent,

As we have shared with many of you in the past, there is still a pending CMS review of Medicare Advantage and Medicare PDP compensation plans within our industry. As a result, no industry compensation plans are final at this time. Unfortunately, some of you may have received an e-mail dated October 15, 2008, indicating that we had established our compensation plan. That e-mail was sent in error and does not reflect Humana’s compensation plan. Please disregard that communication. We will release our compensation plan as soon as possible following receipt of the CMS guidance.

Sincerely,

Lance Hoeltke
Vice President
Humana MarketPOINT

That's the one.

After reading the letter they wrote to the Senators, I am afraid that they may not have the MECA and Delegated agent's best interest at heart.

I don't recall the other companies taking back their published 2009 commissions. I thought we got something from Coventry stating $500/$500, but I may be mixing it up with with all the rumors we keep hearing. I am soooo confused and apathetic.

Nope, here is the email I got from Coventry on Oct 17, and I don't think they rescinded it, yet.

Dear Medicare Insurance Agent,
What is the 2009 Medicare insurance agent commission for selling Advantra Freedom PPO, Advantra Advantage HMO,
AdvantraExtra Special Needs Plans, and Advantra Freedom PFFS for directly contracted agents??
Answer: $500 commission for the new 2009 issued application and $500 for the subsequent 4 renewal years.

As a former Humana person, I can tell you that Humana is a good ol boy club.

The person who sent you that email is one of those where if you have your head up his a** (if you are brown nosing you are not in all the way and does not count), you will go far with the company.

However, if you did not put on a fake "happy" face and actually expressed what no one was willing to say (but were all thinking), you killed any opportunity to advance with Humana.

Humana does not have any broker's best interest in mind. Maybe your direct person (DM) might, but the people above them do not.
