Universal American or Pyramid or Today's Options; (Thanks "Jack M.") I know how some of you feel about UA, but woa, at least they have the b _ _ _s to notify use low life agents.
If your waiting for UnitedWealth or SwellCare it may take a few more days to go through committees and legal departments. Here's a few tid-bits: Yep, Frank can read along with us low lifes (just kidding )
Commissions when a beneficiary changes plans within an organization:
· If an agent sells an MA plan (e.g., HMO) that is in year two of commissions, and then sells a different MA plan (e.g., PFFS) within the same company, the agent will not receive the commission for the new plan (e.g., PFFS). Instead, he/she will receive a renewal commission, which could be a different amount than the commission of the original plan.

I'm sure your source is very reliable, surprised you didn't share it with us, but so are my sources. I think I mentioned that my "go to guy" told me yesterday that he was like 90% sure that the information he had was what the commissions were going to be.
He called me this morning and said that everything was changing.
I hope your source is correct for those who will be selling MA's. However I have been hearing from various "reliable sources" for the last several weeks that they had the final figures.
I still don't think that we will know until the end of the month if then.
Thanks for sharing what you have heard. More specific information would really be appreciated.

Aetna is paying $450 for 6 yrs. Sound good to me. I expect the others will do the same. I don't see how this hurts us. We can still move clients to better plans and get the rest of the renewals. If you put them in the right plan to begin with, you'll be better off of course.

In CA, Aetna is paying $450 for MAPD except PFFS which is $250.
In Los Angeles County, Secure Horizons HMO has no gap for Rx and Aetna's limit is $2,700. Although Aetna's $45 for Part B drugs is great, how many clients would prefer that to no limit on meds?
Last year I sold about 70 of Aetna's PFFS. This year I suspect I'll sell about zero.
Anthem's PPO pays $350 and looks to be my go-to plan for people who don't want an HMO nor want to pay for a supplement.

It is good that the commissions are about $500 because you can just about kiss subsequent years goodbye!
(Prediction can be difficult, especially when it involves the future!)

Think you have guts? Committment? Consider this British Light Brigade during the Crimean war, when 1/3rd of them didn't come back alive:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do & die,
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley'd & thunder'd;
Storm'd at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

Still no new information on each companies commission rates?

I came across this and talked to the guy. This is going to be real good for everyone who does Medicare Advantage plans. This should help us all get paid a lot more.

For all your clients who need a power chair, or look like they can benefit from a power chair (they can even have high blood pressure!). I'm looking for all types of agents, not to change anything on their clients, but throw in a free power chair whenever it is neccessary and make a extra couple hundred dollars. You dont even have to have a license. Please e mail me or call me at 832-661-6514. Ron Walter
Thanks.

Yea right. You are going to, at your own expense even if it is not first approved by Medicare and ordered by a doctor, just give away a power chair and pay the agent $200.
I know, you are going to say "I said whenever it is necessary (the correct spelling).
Since you brought it up I'm sure you would not mind explaining to us what you mean by "necessary" and the instances when a power chair would be "given" to an agent's clients and when it would not be approved.
Sounds like the guy who wanted agents to "place" the testing kits. Ask Ramiz about that one. I think he is still waiting to get paid.
If you have a legitimate offer I would suggest that you put it in the "Offers" section instead of posting here and pretending that you know what CMS is going to do just to pitch your "snake oil".

I received this just yesterday (10/27/08) from a "big wig" with Humana's MA plans (below)
Does anyone else see the writing on the wall with Medicare Advantage?? Obama has already said he intends to immediately, if elected God forbid, (and with the help of a Democratic congress will easily accomplish) eliminate the federal "subsidy to HMO's" that allows for Medicare Advantage.
"
Once again, we are facing uncertainty in the compensation that agents will receive for 2009 MA plans. Congress has pressured CMS to rescind its October 8th Commission Guidance, so we do not know what commissions will be paid during the 2009 MA selling season for any of the MA health plans. CMS is expected to issue new regulatory guidelines before the end of the month. For additional details please click on the link below (press ctrl + click on link).
Medicare officials to review insurers' commissions
We will keep you posted of any additional changes."
