This guy?

His math is off, but then he corrects it. Getting 5% response on 100 mailers is not 50 leads.

He keeps changing the numbers which is a bit confusing. 5% response, then 6% response.

Or this guy . . .

The first one is a bit more appealing. The second one sounds like Tin Men.

Run as fast as you can. Do it yourself, get higher commision, and not owe the company a ton of money for your leads.

The applications written during that time frame, for final expense, were actually by Jody who is here on the forums. That's Jody's voice on that call - and that of his appointment setter. He's contracted with us for company for final expense. He offers training on his site now, showing exactly how he does everything he does. It's at finalexpense101.com - a good site.

Jody does know how to crank out serious numbers - no doubt about it.

The agents I've been working with have seen a drop in final expense marketing results in the last 6-9 months, though. We're focusing on Medicare Supplements as a (very effective) door opener that provides the income necessary to later entertain the final expense sale. Plus, the commissions for helping these folks onto a better plan at a better rate isn't too shabby, either!

That first e-mail is rather dated from early last year when I had mailed to Michigan and got incredible results for F.E. I should take it down, as it's not representative of today's market at all!

When Moonlight & Maragaritas finishes his e-book, he will show you how to write 220 apps in 3 months!! However, at the moment he is busy climbing Mt. Everest for relaxation.

it was 220 apps in 6 months ... and it's not hard to do ... it's called having a lot of leads and working really hard ... I didn't sit home on saturdays, I drove door to door to meet with people that wouldn't talk to me on the phone ... I would leave home every morning at 9am and not come home until 10 pm ... it's a lot work to pull those numbers but easy to do if you just get out there and do it ... I just wish I wasn't doing it under Equita during that time ... Oh well, live and learn.

Not really sure where this comes from..

We don't sell leads and nobody owes us anything.
Contracts are higher than most, especially in the "telesales" world, that's for sure.
There are upfront releases and free help and training.
So.. you must be thinking about someone else.. probably that other "telesales" organization where they charge $1,200+ for your leads that you don't really own and get a whopping 80% contract. You can put that warning, appropriately, on their thread that you can see here:Insurance Agent Forum

No, that's definitely NOT us.

No it don't. When I first "focused" on medicare supplements it was October of that year. I developed knowledge by study of all that was available. In December of that year I got a call from a certain FMO that I qualified for a cruise due to production. 80+ supps in less than 70 days. I was a N00b. Knowledge. Personality. Character. Energy.

I'll never do anything unless I'm 100% sure it is right for all concerned. I love people. I take care of my character so my reputation takes care of itself. I can and do work 12-15 hours per day when needed.

Research is for lazy people not ready to "work".

Intensity... that's all it takes.

I'm curious to actually know how many apps.(Life, DI, LTC, and Annuities) most successful independent agents write in a year. This year for Life, DI,LTC, and annuities. I will clear 100 by a decent margin, but no where near 200. There was a guy in my company that averaged right at 1000/yr. for 25 years. The most I've seen recently is around 500.

With FE, you have to write a lot of policies to make money ... i would think annuities and LTC would be less ... if you wrote 100 annuity apps a year, you'd be freakin' rich ... am I wrong?

Yes sir ... intensity is key ... but why be intense for a low commission contract ... you might as well be intense for a high commission contract .... but you have to know where to go and who to sell ... with FE, companies are different ... some will aceept illnesses that others won't consider ... so you need a variety ...

High commission + variety + sweat on your brow = success

Well, don't forget leads and prospects ... you aren't going to do much good trying to sell to goats .. no matter how hard you work.

This is a quality that is too often overlooked by those seeking advice on how to be successful.

Do what is right for the client, regardless of whether it puts a dime in your pocket or not. You not only sleep better at night but those kind of actions do not go unnoticed and will come back in the form of referrals over and over again.

When you are starting out and trying to pay the bills, it is sometimes difficult to walk away without making a sale. I know. I have been there myself.

How you treat clients is the difference in a professional and just another peddler.

Congratulations on your success!

Since I don't know anything about the FE market I'll make an uneducated statement - if I'm wrong please correct me:

If an agent is broke and really needs quick sales I think FE would be a much better market than health insurance. You can do a lot of damage selling your client the wrong health policy but I'm not sure you can cause any real damage selling FE.

I'm guessing the worse case scenario in FE is selling an uncompetitive plan.
