to work internet leads you have to be in first and sell yourself that is how I have been able to get the client to forward or tell me who the other agents are
|
How do you go about getting the information of the other agents and for what purpose?

main reason to eliminate the competition...
the first thing is that I tell the client that their name was sold to 4 agents by going to that site....then I tell them that out of those agents some can be local captive agents selling limited health plans(like UA or Mega/nase..Vimo sells to both of these co.'s) or a insurance meat market out of state that has no idea how your plan works and shoving a dirt cheap crappy plan at you just to make a quick buck(OLEG)....as for me I am here to apply to be YOUR insurance broker for now and 10 years from now because you are going to have to re look at this year after year.....soooo do you want an agent that can just sell you one co and have to get new agent next year or a telemarketing room out of state that you will never hear form again...I get paid every time you pay your prem. each month so my job is to make sure you are getting the best deal for your situation(thats why I sell all the company's because there is no perfect plan for everyone and peoples health dictate who is going to give them the best deal) and your bills get paid ..... I have clients that I have had for 1996 that are still my clients that trust me and I that you will be one of those ....so.....what health plan do you have now....what have you seen....do you know how health insurance works......then 45 min later I have hand written notes on the lead and have not even quoted them a rate yet....

Thanks.

once you have received $100 worth then they tag your account... sold to 4 max and in some case's only 2 to 3 depending how many they are churning.....

Thank you for the input. 45 minutes of qualifying a prospect? Very nice...

Just be careful of internet leads in general. They are not the panacea agent's think they are.
If you:
1) Cannot immediately call the lead
2) Don't have incredible phone skills
3) Know your product and the competition inside and out
Then I'd stay away from shared leads.

I have come back behind someone who has been hammered already and pulled it together....you can also take leads just in your town and tell them you are going to come see them personally and just take all the rates that are being sent and will will go over them when I get there and I will explained all your option's ..

About two years ago I hired four agents and gave all of them free leads. Not one of them lasted a month. The best one closed about 1 out of 30.

True - which is my point. Shared leads are for seasoned agents.

You guys do not know how lucky you are ...when I started in health....I got free telemarketer leads from a marketing company that was going to screw me on my back end commission's.....and the leads were at least 2 weeks old at best and some were dead....I swear I called a lead and the person had died a year ago......so the way I see it these people that respond to these type of web sites have something on their mind about their current insurance situation and I try to present myself deferent than everyone else trying to sell them...and I tell them I do not have to waste both of our time meeting like back in the day of pushy evening appointment were you have to write me a check because I am not comming back appointments..... you just have to make sure what I am telling you makes sense and I can be counted on down the road to shop this in your best interest....this is my home office #.....

Trust me - I feel the same way. I got in with UGA and "B leads." Those are lists that have been called over and over for years. I called 3 to 4 hours a day every day to get 10 appointments a week. I got cussed out on the phone until I was able to buy leads myself. Then I bought and used internet leads for over 2 years.
With a stay-at-home wife, son and at the time two car payments it wasn't a matter of "this isn't working." I made it work or back into the papers I went.
