It's great to know that if you want to sit down and discuss an issue that all you need to do is contact your local congressman. I tried this and found out that they are apparently too busy (they told me this) to sit down with a consitituent. I should send an email or write a letter. Thought my email to the jackass congressman Brad Sherman (slightly more liberal than Obama) might be of interest. Just love that "closed door policy."
Congressman Sherman:
I called your local office yesterday and spoke with Isidro. I asked if I could make an appointment with someone in the office to discuss Medicare. This was to be a general meeting and not regarding a specific problem. I would like my opinion on how to help solve the problem with Medicare Advantage products to be heard.
I was told that I could either write a letter or send an email to the Washington office. I continued to press the point that I wanted a face to face with a representative of the Congressman that was elected to represent the people in the district. I was continually refused an appointment.
It interesting that I contacted several other congressional offices and just asked the question of could I make an appointment if I was in the district. The answer was (of course) "yes." In fact, Dr. Paul's office said that anyone could walk into either their district or D.C. offices and speak with someone - no appointment needed. (You could learn from this).
Perhaps I'm wrong but I assumed that the purpose of a field office was to help people you swore to serve. If your constituents can't meet with someone in your office then why are the taxpayers paying for the space and staff? Do I have to wait for you to leave your office before I can speak with someone?
Based upon my "greeting" by your office's representative I have no expectations that this email will be read and certainly would be surprised by an answer. There is no excuse for your "closed door" policy.
Did you forget that you and your staff serve us?

Just more proof of Congress being made up of morons. Suppose he's probably a lawyer too?
Can you imagine trying to run a business the way Congressmen attempt to run this country...? No wonder we are in deep troubles.
The seem to spend 90% of their time attempting to make the other side look bad (no matter which party they represent) and 10% of their time doing the ppls business. Impossible formula.

Actually, he's a short, bald, CPA. You'd think he would understand that printing money causes inflation! His main goal in congress seems to be getting as much funding as possible for Israel.
Lifetime politician in a district that's probably 70% democrap.

Well, the 70% democrap would be correct if he's from CA. But then hey, those democraps can thank themselves for thinking that Arnold Schwarzenegger was somehow politically different than Maria Schriver. Turns out, not.
You need to pull a Chuckie Schumer and foward your note to as many news outlets as possible, including CNN, Time, Newsweek, the whole lot of them. The entire world should know that that clown isn't representing his district. As a congressman, he is PRIMARILY responsible for budgetary items and controls, and last I checked, Medicare was a pretty freaking big part of the budget.
Maybe he's too interested in a tattoo removal program locally?
Received a phone call from his office apologizing for the lack of "customer service." I was told that the legislative people are in Washington and the local people are to handle "local" issues. He told me that if I insisted I should have been offered an appointment and that the guy who said no is being "retrained."
I have an appointment with the guy in a couple of weeks (my timeline). I'm still pissed off about the entire situation.
Without me making such a fuss, I'm sure nothing would have come of this.
However, I won't back down. The training came from the top and it's no excuse for the way the office treated not only a resident, but a registered and qualified, professional, voter.
Oh stop it. Congress is NOT in session so the calendar must be pretty light. This is the time to have the appointment. It's not like you're asking for a full day seminar!
My congressman is available to me but to be honest, the last meeting I had with him was in DC a few weeks back.

That Sherman refuses to see his constituents is common knowledge in the SF Valley. Hopefully, we can boot him out in November. Some shocking facts are coming out about him -- such as his ties to a terrorist group in Sri Lanka. You heard that right.
