There are a plethora of accidental death policies around----I get a mailing every 6 months from my bank. Credit card companies and J C Penny and Sears offer them. As for accidental death and sickness coverage, AFLAC has one and so does Mutual Savings Life Insurance Company. The MSLI policy as an increasing death benefit over the first 10 years. I am sure that there are others.

Maybe I missed something on Mark's website, but I did not see an Assurity policy that covers accidental death and sickness only. The Assurity policies appear to be true disability policies.

Sorry Arnguy I was looking for DI coverage Accidental Only
I've seen the duck offer this (not who I want to deal with) but some people think they save money by buying accident only coverage and in plain premium dollars I believe they are right but when you factor in the cost savings and the hole in the coverage I think its more costly but I've got a client who wants me to look for this.

Arnguy just didn't read it right.

I think what you meant to say is that it doesn't cost much.
Good for the client and bad for the agent.
Is whether it's good for the agent or bad for the agent a valid consideration for the client? I don't think so - if you expect to be in the business in 2020 that is....

Conseco has a descent one. I believe it's the only plan they have that actually pays. I haven't found one better yet, but I'm always looking.

I know it's like pulling teeth to talk him in to something else, but does he realize that only 10% of disabilities are due to accidents and the other 90% is due to illness?

What I meant to say is that I'd probably make sure it was in writing that he knew what he was getting and what he wasn't. I can just see a client like that getting a disease later on and sueing that you didn't tell him all the facts.

I know....I have told him and made my recommendations but I no longer hold my breath till I turn blue hoping for the client to change there mind...These days I'll take the order and when I do the review next year I will once again mention the holes his coverage has and what would be a better plan.
That accident only DI reminds of that cheap auto ins policy that I found... great if you get hit on the passenger side of the car, but if you are so unfortunately to collide on any of the other 3 sides, you are out of luck... BUT it COSTS LESS so I'm just driving more cautiously lately in hopes that my policy pays if I need it.
Investing the savings/difference in DI leads too. NOT

Accident only Disability plans have been around for many years. There are several carriers who offer such coverage. My suggestion is to contact your local disability brokerage outlet as a starting point.
