Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

I'm an agent in Idaho. I have been with Farmers Insurance for over two years, and I felt that where I wanted to be in the Future and what I could do with Farmers did not line up. So I am starting my own Independent Agency, I've been talking to brokering and marketing companies that will get me appointed with other insurance companies so I can write their business. I have found that it may be the easiest route instead of getting appointed directly through the company.

I have a great business plan and a marketing department that will produce me the leads I need to get to where I need to be. I want to make sure that i'm getting all the right info and getting competitive commissions paid to my agency. Is there any advice or experience that any ready may have that will help out in my decisions? Here are some of my concerns.

1.) What are competitive commisions to be paid by these companies for Life and P & C?

2.) The Best Place to find E & O Insurance

3.) Some other Brokerages and Marketing Companies to look into?

I was with Farmers for only 6 months.I congradulate you for the right move.
Try E&O or search P&C forum on that.
I work with Burns&Wilcox in Ca. I am sure there are many wholesalers in your state, just google and start calling them. It's very difficult to get appointment.Just fina a local indy that is willing to let you write business till you have some books.Good luck

I would be careful at trying to do business trough another agents appointments as it becomes really hard to leave with your book of clients. If you do go this route make sure that he issues a different producer code for the business you plan to place with him. This will make it much easier to sort the book out in case it does not work out.

We may be able to help you with appointments and E&O please visit Fiesta Insurance Franchise - Structure, Agency Automation, Training, Operational Support.
