I have no idea what they would be worth but I'm curious what the average price would be. I don't mind going through a lot of them. I plan on just calling one time and leave a message; if I can't get ahold of them, then its onto a drip email campaign.
My thinking is that a lot of people get turned off by the bombardment of calls and clam up or don't answer the phone. Thats when I want to call and leave a nice message and then send some quotes and add em to my email lists.
It all depends on what kind of "leads" they are and what you are trying to sell.
To me, there is no such thing as a "hot" Med Supp direct mail lead. It is nothing more than a name, address, phone number (sometimes) and a b-date. I have run thousands of them and I do not remember one instance where the person either remembered sending it in or if they did remember they would not admit to it.
A lead you receive today, if handled correctly, can be worth its weight in gold a year from now.
If anyone in Missouri has "old" (six to eighteen months or longer), "no good" "leads" and you no longer want them please send them to me.
I have made a lot of money contacting "old", "no good" "leads" that other agents were going to throw away.
This probably works best when trying to sell Med Supps.

A 30-day old lead is worth a buck...in my opinion.
I have been using leads since first starting out about 6 years ago. I have retained contact information on all of my leads, and have a special file that contains everyone that I ever spoke to and had a positive experience, but did not result in a sale or placement.
Have you ever done any type of special marketing or ad campaign to this segment of your potential client base on the island of misfit leads? anyone?

Thanks Frank and FYI these would be individual health leads. The point you are making is where my mind is at. These are people that are in the market for what I sell and if they are $1.50 each I can buy 100 leads for $150. If I close 2 deals from that at $500 commission, I'll be fine with that.
I'm not going to invest any time other than a quick call and if they answer I'll give them my pitch. If they don't I'll leave them a message and not bother them again other than email, which I will have all the email addresses because they went online. The only real work will be entering them into I-Relay, hopefully I can get them in excel format though.
Aged leads work best if thrown into a dialer so you can get through them several times without much effort and at odd times throughout the day. Last I checked Al was still running his $50 first month special. If so, it would be well worth your time to try it. His offer is in the insurance offers section.

I have the dialer and I had given that some thought but I want to leave messages the first go round, but I think I remember reading somewhere that you could do that with it. I'll have to email Al. I think with the dialer I would definitely want to call them more, though.
Moonlight, are you sure it was UQ quotes? I can't find anything on that through google but then again I didn't look past the first page
Is your friend still using these?
I have used the aged leads Doug has from Benefit Concepts, and ran just under 1% conversion rate, which at the price I paid is a cost per application of just over $20. ROI of 19:1 against marketing expenses at least. Time does factor in though so keep that in mind.

If anyone is still looking, I've got a ton of leads 30 days to 6 months old nationwide. I don't use them anymore and would be willing to talk about letting them go.
