I'm an agent in Alabama with an adult son
that just lost his Obama care.
I don't write health coverage, life mostly.

He has to get coverage outside of the exchange.
Any health companies sell individual coverage in
our state beside BCBS?

Thanks,
Shooter

He has to get coverage outside of the exchange.

Why?

A better question would be if any agents sell health insurance. My guess is almost none and a similar answer for carriers.

Hey Shooter! Unfortunately, BCBS is the ONLY health insurance carrier in Alabama right now, as far as ACA. UnitedHealthcare and Humana just left. However, there are agents who sell short term health insurance, which would be a good option to hold him over until Open Enrollment. However, there is an unwriting process for that, plus, he'd still have to pay the fine. I'd suggest looking for a STM agent. I think UnitedHealthcare has a STM, and HIIQuote too. Another, more risky option is a Limited Benefit/Limited Medical/Hospital Indemnity Plan. I'd recommend the STM over that if he can get it. Hope this helps! PM me if you need a phone number to a local agent.
