AARP Klutzing Around

What a mess AARP's lobbying effort has become over the years. One side of their shop advocating seniors. The other side advocating products whether they are good for seniors or not. One side advocating taking money from MA's to fund doctor reimbursements. The other side selling MA;s.

You gotta love the last paragraph in this article were they say it is ridiculous to suggest that their branded products would influence their policy decisions. Yes, we would just be shocked wouldnt we.

They are going head to head with the dems in the senate and threatening to undermine health care reform over some piddling pharmaceutical issue that would effect their bottom line. They gotta be nuts. The senate will just expose them for the whores they are, which apparently someone already has by releasing the letter.

They should bring back Alan Simpson to tear them a new one. I don't pay as close attention to politics as I used to, but he was the sharpest critic of AARP's in the Senate that I recall.

AARP's med supps are only competitively priced in a couple of states, but they do seem to have a conflict of interest on the MA side. They push those plans pretty hard.

aarp is the most cost effective med sup in florida, I have been selling med sups in florida for 3+ yrs and no one can come close.
Having said that, if you want a company that pays claims quickly without all the bullsh** go with Mutual of Omaha. They are by far the best for customers, more expensive but worth the extra for sure.

My favorite part about AARP is that they have ticked enough people off here that it is usually a slam dunk to replace them.

It amazes me how much we sell the AARP Med Supp. when they are often the most or close to the most expensive. A lot of people drink the AARP Kool Aid!
