AARP Medicare Supplement Enrollment PackagesGo to Top
I got a box of 10 from UHC today. Wasn't able to order them from the onesource website. So, one of the reps used their login and got me 10. The rates look pretty good here in Texas. Anyone else get their Med Supp supplies from AARP yet?

I would be very interesed in the IL rate for AARP, where can I obtain them since I am not contracted with them? Medicare website used to post a booklet on rate for numerous companies but decided to have ppl input their zips and only get what they think are the best companies for this person. Any Feedback?

It doesn't look like the plans are out in IL yet (for independent agent distribution). However, you can get the rates here:

VERY overpriced here in KC. 65 year old plan F is $160ish per mo. United World is less then $100.

UHC was a little slow getting out the plans, among other things. Kansas came in several weeks before Missouri around my neck of the woods, but got them about the first and third week of January, respectively. Kansas may have been available prior, but don't know since it took 3 months to get appointment papers!
I ordered the plans as soon as I got certified, and they arrived in about a week. Noticed a number of errors, some in printing, others in stuffing.

While AARP does have a powerful name in the Medicare Supplement world you might want to consider adding some other Medicare Supplement companies to your portfolio if you have not already done so. Below is a small list of Medicare Supplement rate comparisons for the Dallas/Fort Worth area for a 65 year old, female, non-smoker, Plan F:
AARP: $160.86 per month Admiral Life: $121.92 per month United of Omaha: $107.30 per month
I would recommend contacting Senior Marketing Specialists at 800-689-2800. They offer all 3 of these Medicare Supplement carriers. I also would recommend getting license with Admiral Life (21% commission, years 1-6) and United of Omaha (15% commission, years 1-7). You can reach them at 800-689-2800 or visit them online at Senior Marketing Specialists.

If you call them up be sure to ask for Ryan.
I am in a community-rated state and the AARP med supps are almost the lowest rates in the state. However, I have dumped them. Their commission is very low and the sales support people for med supps, ma's etc at UHC are so frigging stupid, worthless, and basically incorrect most of the time that enough is enough. Dumber than dogshit. Just not worth the aggravation. Also not as many seniors are as wild about AARP as you might think. In addition, AARP/UHC policy prohibits phone call prospecting even where allowed by state law. I did a little MA and med supp business with them recently but damn I am so glad to get rid of them. Every goddam commission statement is an archeological dig too, when and if you get paid.

Thanks for posting that about AARP/UHC. I was going to add them to my carousel of carriers here, and dreaded the thought of taking those stupid, mindless tests.
I get enough aggravation from Coventry and everybody else...Who needs this, right?
Re: AARP Medicare Supplement Enrollment PackagesGo to Top
Here in Florida I have made a lot of money with AARP/Secure Horizons, enough during AEP to pay for my Vette. Sometimes I have connected with a newbie at agent services and they say some dumb things. I hang up and call back or ask for a supervisor. They are growing really fast and it must be hard to get intelligible people to answer phones all day. After all, they are our fellow Americans ( I think ). The insurance business is very difficult and our world is spinning ever faster.
The plan is solid and a great alternative to paying for a supplement since it is a PPO. The prices are skyrocketing on supps.
