Re: Android             Go to Top

We think it's going to do a lot more than give it a run. Here are a list of devices coming that will be based on Android:

Android News. 50+ Android Phones expected in near future

Right now Compulife is working on personalize web quote services for PDA's and we hope to roll that out in a few weeks. Currently our customers use this for quoting with online PDA's:

www.termcomparisons.cc/blackberry

The replacement service for that will have all our new categories of products and allow agents to select their own groups of companies. The new service will be free to subscribers of Compulife.

We think that most PDA's will be online in the future and so that means any device or OS such as iPhone, Droid, Blackberry, Palm Pre, etc., that comes with a data package, will be able to do quotes with our new service.

Only inexperienced and un-productive agents are going to be running quotes for anything other than term on a cell phone... or even a lap/desktop.

When you get busy enough, running WL or UL quotes is a poor use of your time. I find it best to send all of these quotes to a GA and let them do it while I concentrate on sales and marketing.

As for term, why would anyone pay money for a quote engine when every GA on the planet has an online term quote engine... most often from iPipeline.

I've been recently working with Nick Perry (on this board) and he runs WL and UL quotes and gets back to me in several hours. Same with Brokers Alliance (for UL... they don't quote WL.) I believe Nick uses Compulife... which is fine. Why would YOU want to pay the Compulife fee when you can get the results from a GA for free? Most GAs are getting a 30+ point override off of your efforts. Damn right that they should do your quoting. Your job is to be prospecting and selling.

Even if your GA takes 24 hours, how many cases are you going to lose because you don't do a quote on your cell phone... Android, iPhone... or whatever.

Running your own quotes is "old school"... right up there with the old rate books. The productive agent delegates this to the GA and spends his/her time prospecting and selling. A program like Compulife, for agents who understand the paradigm of prospecting, marketing and sales in today's competitive environment ... is an anachronism.

Re: Android             Go to Top

I'm addicted to my Iphone and have very few complaints:

1) Inability to watch videos unless they're Youtube which is a HUGE issue with me and prevents a true "web browsing" experience

2) Inability to run multiple apps

For example, I like to listen to Rhapsody but that means I can't do anything else. If I want to pull of anything else and still listen to my music it's impossible - Rhapsody closes.

Re: Android             Go to Top

This all conjures up the vision of a little "Barney" agent coming into the home, dressed in coat and tie, flopping down a briefcase full of rate books. He takes the pencil from behind his ear and a ruler out of his briefcase to line up the rates he is going to quote. Then he jots down some figures and squeamishly turns to the prospects and says: "Your new policy will only run twenty-five to thirty dollars a month... Can I get that started for you today?"
