My wife is the beneficiary on an Annuity she found when cleaning out her deceased Aunt's home. It was a 403b contribution through her work and was taken out in 1991. Her Aunt died 5 years ago.
Every time my wife calls to get some information, nobody seems to be able to locate this.
We have the annuity paperwork and contract number. LNL says they don't have any record of it. She has called Marsh & Mcclellan (seabury and smith?) and other numbers to no avail.
Wouldn't or shouldn't LNL have record of this annuity contract that they issued?
Does anyone know a number she could call to get info on this annuity?
Thanks in advance!

It is possible that she transferred it into another qualified account at some point. With a policy that old, if she transferred it a long time ago, they might have archived it and not be able to see it in the current system.

If she had other qualified funds you could check the deposit history for them to see if an amount similar to the LNL annuity was deposited.
