Thank you. ...and thank you for the grammar, spelling and punctuation lesson. I am a better person for having known you and shared in your knowledge.

You certainly have difficulty accepting anything other than your version of the truth. I simply stated that the service was not good for me. I am happy you are enjoying such success. I did not, so I am a failure and a liar for saying so.

Send me the refund you promised months ago John or as I stated in my email to you today, I will contact carriers, BBB, and seek legal recourse. You promised in writing to refund and on Oct 15 said, yet again, that a check was being processed. Did you mean you were cutting down a tree and hand making the paper to print it on?

Take some english and composition classes with the half of the money you stole from me and will not be refunding.

Re: Annuity Lead Source             Go to Top

I think what Patch was referring to was the fact that the leads he received were so awful, that there was no way anyone could have written any business. Which, is the exact same experience I had and apparently the same with a few other posters on this site. If Neil received much better leads, then so be it....but showing up at peoples doorsteps and having them look at me like I was speaking chinese was not a fun exercise. Because of this frustrating experience I will never do business with them again. I'm being honest so that the next person can logically deduce from this board whether the risks may outweigh the rewards.

Has anyone else used this company (UNIS Teleservices)?

Re: Annuity Lead Source             Go to Top

I was given 3 annuity leads recently. My results were:

Call One: Age 56. Needs to start withdrawals in six months.

Call Two: Requested info two weeks prior. Has already spoken to several agents.

Call Three: Fax number.

Lead two and three live 100 miles from me. One to the east, the other in the mountains.

None so far. I have not used Unis, but I know them from a previous association and their program does work. It is very expensive, but a good annuity appointment is expensive to generate.

It has been at least 2 years since I have used anyone successfully for preset appts for Annuities. I tried Annuity Lead Source several months ago and it did not work for me. I have tried a couple internet lead sources for annuities and the leads were not good for me. I am using several internet lead sources for medicare leads and they are working good. I use them to supplement my own leads and referrals.

Presently I generate all of my annuity business from referrals and cross selling and am doing well, but...I have been doing this for 6 years, so I should be.

That's been my experience as well. I have not found a good internet lead source for annuities. All have been from exisiting clients and referrals. BTW, thanks for your advice on my other thread.

Unfortunately, that is probably par for the course for most lead sources.

I almost used a company because my FMO recommended them. They are legitimate and they do get "good" results. But here's the problem:

When you calculate the returns on your investment for really qualified leads, you come up with about $300 per lead. I just could not bring myself to do that. At least they were up front on this to some extent. "If we do a 1,500 mailing for you (the minimum they will do), you can expect about 5 leads that we have pre-qualified for you."

So, here is my conclusion on lead sources: most are a scam. The few that are legitimate are very expensive. That is not their fault, it is just the nature of the game. I agree with those who have said that you're better off buying a mailing list and doing it yourself. As for me, I'll stick to seminars for now.

Re: Annuity Lead Source             Go to Top

Annuity lead source contracted with me to furnish 60 appointments at 1 appt per day, 1-4 times a week for 15-60 weeks. To have me commit they also dangled setting an additional 15 appts for me off of my own current lead source. I also worked with Phil, the top appt. setter. He sent me to 3 homes where the person had no idea why I was there, because they told Phil they were not interested. ANNUITY LEAD SOURCE is a primary reason agents are dismayed with the insurance industry. They promise the moon and give you a moon pie. Their moon pie cost me $2000 and I have not seen a penny back in refunds because Mr. John Mate has pulled the economy card. "Times are tough and it will take us time to get your refund". Well Mr. Mate, I gave you my money over 5 months ago and you breached your contract. If you are the respectable working Joe you claim to be, you would not defraud other hard working joes of thier hard earned money. I am the sole provider for my wife and 6 kids and to be taken advantage of so blatantly is disgusting. I talked with both you and Phil for a solid month back and forth. I even called your referrals you gave me in other States (ie Tenn/Ohio) to do proper due diligence. I was completely SCAMMED. Annuity Lead Source is a TOTAL SCAM. They have not refunded a penny to me nor did they meet the requirements of the contract. They do not return phone calls. I will be pursuing legal recourse so we can rid our industry of theives like these.

Re: Annuity Lead Source             Go to Top

They have a refund clause in the paperwork you signed that agrees to pay half back.

They sent me over the course of several months 2 different Money Orders for 1/3. On the 2nd one which was a couple months after the 1st it was noted on it that it was the third payment though it was only the second. They are game players and thieves. I give up and they kept 2/3 of my original payment.

I worked with the exact same two scam artists and had similar experiences with appts. Now someone will tell us both how inadequate we are and that they are making lots of money through this wonderful company.

Re: Annuity Lead Source             Go to Top

I received a call today saying that I would begin to receive my refund starting Friday 1/30 and to expect 2 payments of $500 each. I will keep this forum posted of my progress. If no funds are provided, I will take this to the next level of legal recourse.

Why don't I just send you a check now Karl so you won't have to go to all the effort to scam me

I TOO think you are gameplaying, but I may be TOO suspicious. If I want TO increase my book of business, what would you have to offer, or is that TOO secret TO tell in a thread about scamming preset appointment companies...

I never said they were all bad. I currently get leads from several internet lead companies and sell a respectable pct of them, especially considering they are not exclusive.

As a matter of fact, some folks claim Annuity Lead Source is good for them. I can only speak of my experience.

Re: Annuity Lead Source             Go to Top

Just jerking your chain Karl. You solicited me on a thread that is about scamming agents with bad leads. How could I resist?

I emailed you. I use several lead sources successfully, but I am willing to listen to your pitch and test drive a couple free leads. I know the lead game, and my expectations are not that every lead is good, but if some of them are and they are not being oversold, I will sing your praises...

This thread was about annuity preset appointments, not just leads. Not sure there is such a thing as good annuity leads or preset appts anymore, but I am willing to give it a shot. I have done well in the past with leads and preset appts.

Re: Annuity Lead Source             Go to Top

Annuity Lead Source is making good on their refund policy...I have received a first installment of what is said to be a four payment plan. I will keep you all posted every other week as the remaining 3 installments are due every 2 weeks. Upon the final installment being received, Annuity Lead Source will have met their portion of the agreement. I will post as the installments arrive.

Re: Annuity Lead Source             Go to Top

I received a refund. Their refund policy is one half of your payment. I received, after threats and complaints, a money order for 1/3 of the 1/2 and months later another money order for 1/3 of 1/2. They claim they sent 3 money orders but I only got 2. How would you ever prove you didn't get a money order?

So I got 1/3 of my original payment back. I got more than I figured I would and it was a lesson learned.

They go out of their way to keep names and contact info secret. An anonymous money order as a way to refund and over 6 months? Too weird for me.
