Anybody Familiar with IMS? (Insurance Marketing Services)             Go to Top

Is anybody familiar with, or done business with IMS? Stands for Insurance Marketing Services? This is supposedly what they do. They generate annuity leads with mailers. They then qualify the interested prospects to be certain that they already have an annuity that is about to expire. They set and confirm the appointment for you. The apts cost $50 a pop and you sign a contract giving them 20% of your commish on the back end. All opinions are greatly appreciated, as i currenly focus on the under 65 Health market, but i would love to break into annuities.

It may not be a bad thing if you've got the right contract to begin with. Do you have to contract with the annuity companies under them or are you free to get your own contracts?
Let me give you an example: You find one that is 100K, you have a street level contract at 8%. You initially make 8K, but you have to give IMS $1600. That's $6400 in your pocket.
Or you could get a 9% contract and initially you make 9K and give them $1800, making $7200. That's $800 more just because you had the right contract. Just be careful as to who you get contract through.

Re: Anybody Familiar with IMS? (Insurance Marketing Services)             Go to Top

No, you don't have to contract through them. So you can sell them any products you currently have access to. You are free to cross sell any other products. My concern is how solid the appointments would actually be. I did a little more digging online and found some similar offers. I also found a guy on ripoffreport talking about a similar setup, different company, were most of the apts. were bogus. No shows, etc. Could just be sour grapes, who knows. I don't think they would be lay downs, but if you got one good annuity, out of 10 apts. it would be worth it. I just hate dishing out money for something like this, not knowing anybody else who has had success with it.

I would be cautious my man. They called me and they offered to give me referrals. I asked if anyone had used them in KY and she said I dont think so but I will check surely someone has a while back. She was going to give me a call back but she never did. I ran into something similar with annuity-agents where the appointment is so cheap and then I ended up never even getting one appointment at all.

Re: Anybody Familiar with IMS? (Insurance Marketing Services)             Go to Top

Thanks for the heads up Billy. Its all starting to sound a little too shady. I'm going to pass on this deal myself. I found out today, that the guy who placed the ad, only lives a couple of miles from me and he's not an agent. In fact he said he also does reverse mortgages. ??? He was blowing all this smoke up my A@# about how much money these guys are making. Well if thats the case, why doens't he go out on any of these apts?? Told me that he was to busy with the reverse mortgages. Yea, O.K. If it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.

As a frequent contributor to this forum, I would like to point out that the IMS referred to in this thread is not us. We are Insurance Marketing Systems. We are an IMO that supports and trains agents to sell Life Insurance and Annuities over the phone with no commission split.

What annuity companies allow you to sell their product over the phone?

No problem bud. I am longing for the day when these bogus companies and lead companies are wiped off the map and we can have access to some legitimate lead companies that actually have the goods.

I guess you would just trust the client to send the check to: a person they have never met, and to a company they probrably do not know............Sounds Nigerian to me.

Every annuity company I know requires ORIGINAL transfer paperwork. I am assuming the client is also going to be trusted to send the transfer paperwork in as well?

Please correct me if I am wrong; but only if I am wrong, NO OPNIONS PLEASE!

I once contacted one of the companies from doing google searches. The company had a top ranking and they did pre-set appointments. I had some guy with a hardcore NY accent. He was hard sell and probably 50 to 60+ years of age by the voice. He was Jeff something in AZ. I was a little interested and backed away. He was not happy.

Got a call from another guy a month later same type of company in CA. He had a different name but the same voice and same hard sales pitch. The voice was easy enough to peg and I am pretty good at voices.

Just be careful. Usually you have to buy $1200 in leads and usually about $75 a pre-qualified annuity appointment "with annuity statements already on the dinner table."

I though with Dean Cipriano's system I could sell large whole life cases on the phone while sitting at home in my underwear.

I am considering your system Bill where I can quit the insurance business and drive tractor trailer and make $100,000. Dean's system for me moving from being to a truck driver to an annuity salesman has not worked out too well.
