Comp is going to be better than anyone else that we have seen so far too.

Most likely. And the new manager of sales is Jim Walsh (formerly of Health Net). He was my favorite IFP carrier rep. He used to be a broker, and understands the issues facing brokers.

Jim is my buddy and I heard that comp was going to be higher than what we saw today:( wish I would have had a chance to meet you there today Ann!

I was there too Fox, I was the guy who asked about 5 stupid questions up against the wall on the right side of the room.

Here's a recap for those that were not there:

IFP Commish = 6% 1st year, 4% renewals on original premium only (100% vested) - this is average, not better than competitors)
Group = 4% level including rate increases

NO Broker of record changes, they will protect original selling broker (creates incentive to sell the client, and never service them - bad call)

10% tobacco rate ups for all ages (guess whose getting the smokers)
Group enrollment online and upload census (very easy)
Will be statewide next year (major counties only this year)
$72 million in reserves - gov funded
Can't spend any gov money on advertising (private money being raised)
Will take ongoing credit card payments
HHS FFM hookup delayed 1-3 months (can't get a return call from HHS)
Will have ability to insert broker number if come through FFM first (key)
No platinum plans
AZ foundation = PPO
Neighborhood network plans too & HMO's (Banner and Maricopa integrartd)
Some HMO's have alternative therapy copays (accupuncture, Natruopathy, therpeutic massages)
Expect 24k enrollees in year 1 and 41k in 2nd year

Great recap. I was the one throwing Jim softballs:) the commission is less than expected for a new carrier that needs to buy business. Not impressed with commission increase with increase in rates.
