Umbrella Insurance Cover Surfing and Kitesurfing?

I kitesurf and I am wondering about buying an umbrella policy.

Questions:
1) Do I need to disclose the hobby on my application?
2) Am I covered for the medical costs of the injured bystander?
3) Am I covered for the court costs of the injured bystander suing me?
4) Am I covered for a possibly lawsuit(attorney fees and judgement)?
5) If I chopped off a guys leg somehow, what am I looking at...just a deductible payment, possibly two deductibles due to two claims(medical and then court costs), etc?

Thanks,

GG

A lot depends on the exact policy language.

1. If asked, yes.
2. Assuming the claim is otherwise covered. A kitesurf may be considered watercraft and the umbrella policy may exclude coverage unless you have underlying coverage for watercraft.
3. Again assuming it is otherwise covered. Defense is generally included as part of the coverage.
4. Attorney fees are part of defense, the judgement would be subject to the limits of coverage.
5. Assuming a deductible would apply then one for each claim. Also if the claim exceeded the total coverage then you would be liable for the remainder.
