Assurant Instant Issue

Has anyone had any experience with Assurant and their instant issue way of submitting apps?
I usually do the application thru the E.A.S.E. system, have the client do the phone interview and wait for a couple days until hear the decision. Usually pretty quick turn around. They mail me the issued policy, I deliver to client etc..
I used their "instant issue" system for the first time this past Tuesday. My marketing rep said by doing this, I can get instant approval, then print the policy with I.D. cards right away and give to the client.
Its now Thursday, I'm still waiting for a decision!! I called Assurant, the UW person said its still sitting and waiting for UW approval. She would see if she could "light a fire" under someone!
According to the person in UW, everything has been done on mine and the clients end. I'm losing a little faith in this system.
Just wondering if anyone else has had and issue.

Instant issue only applies if their are no dings on the MIB and the health questions were answered satisfactory. Every health client you send through E.A.S.E. has the potential of being instant issue but they have to be pretty much in perfect health otherwise it's off to the underwriting department for further review.

I had several apps instant issue last year.

Only a very small percentage is issued instantly - almost no families. Mainly some younger clients - no stated health conditions, no MIB or pharma hits.

This was written on a 23yr old female,non-tobacco user. Fits well within the height / weight guidelines.
All health questions were answered no. Even the person in UW said no "red flags" came up. All the questions / answers looked fine.
Guess that I just got over excited when I thought I could write and app and have it issued and done with the same day?
I've been around long enough to know better.

I write a lot of Assurant. Probally 60-70 % of them are instant issue or by the next morning.

Nobody has 60 to 70 pecent of their Assurant cases instant issue.

And you know that because... oh silly me... you know everything.

Might I suggest that you preface your remarks with the words "My Opinion" because from your posts in this venue you are obviously lacking in many facts.

I know one agent in Maryland and one in Virginia who have 50% to 70% of their Assurant cases in most weeks approved "instantly." They both specialize in writing young, super-healthy couples or recent college grads. Why should that be so hard to believe?

Healthy individuals tend to go instant active quite often in my experience.

Humana can approve in minutes as many have attested before. All depends on the situation.

I have had several approved in less than 20 minutes but not anywhere close to 60%.

Of course I take on a lot of prospects most agents walk away from . . .

True. I always get a kick out of H1 when the second I hang up with my client, they get a call from H1 and 2 minutes later I get an email telling me my client is auto issued. I am back on the phone with my client to give him/her the good news before I even get to send out my thank you email.

The reason I have a high percentage of Instant Approvals from Assurant is that the clients I submit to Assurant are usually very healthy people with nothing in their MIB. If they are not going to be "instant approvals" they are approved in a day or two. Also, if they are not approved within a day, my Wife is on the phone with the Agent Support people. She knows them all by name and they know her so they are willing to "go the extra mile for her"! We do not put everyone through Assurant because it is not the right plan for everyone.

In my 'opinion' Assurant is a great company, but they aren't doing any agent any favors, they underwrite just like every other company - by their book - I don't care how much business you write - and it doesn't matter if you know thier agent services line or underwriters by name. Makes no difference. Al3 will be glad that I am giving an 'opinion' and not assumptive statement...Make you feel better Al?

WOW...don't know you well but we do get help and apps through with back office help from Assurant. Underwriting is underwriting and unhealthy wont get through but you can get help to get boarderline cases through.
