I pay about $2,000 a year... but I have my own dedicated (non-shared) server with pair.com.
Why?
I also am a (senior) owner/partner in the the
Jaya123 web service which necessitates a secure system. Jaya123 has been "up" for about six years now and is a virtual cash cow for us. While I spend about 80% of my time in the insurance biz (which is far more fun than Jaya) I also own a publishing company called
Adams-Blake Publishing which also makes a few bucks each year... but not as much as it did before the Internet. It too shares the server, along with the agency web site and... the SugarCRM system we use to keep track of clients, etc.
At my "advanced" age, the life and health insurance agency is much more enjoyable and is a business I can do until I die (or close to it!) Being over 60, I'm probably pretty close to assuming room temp! But before that happens it looks as if I'm going to go to law school next year so as to incorporate law into the insurance biz. (I started law school 35 years ago... never finished. Gotta start all over again.)
