Best Comparative Rater for Online Quotes?

My agency is looking for a new comparative rater. Specifically, we'd like our customers to be able to quote, and perhaps bind online. We get a fair amount of web traffic today and would like to improve our closure rates. We think online quoting and binding would be great. We also don't mind hiring web programmers to help create the web interface with the comparative rater if needed. Does anyone have experience or ideas for this? Is there a good rater that has much of this functionality? Thanks.

My apologies for not being clear. The rater for website quoting/binding would be for consumers (not agents) for auto.

Yes, there are a couple options out there currently. We are using Ezlynx and currently there is no plug and play set up for letting the binding process happen online. Plus if you did have the technology there are only a few carriers that will allow it.

Hello,

I am with QQ Solutions. We offer a completely Web-based comparative rater: QQ WebRater. You can quote up to 6 cars and 6 drivers. There is no software to install or maintain. We offer real-time rating, binding, and bridging. We also have QQ WebAgent which is a consumer portal that adds real-time auto insurance quoting to your agency's Web site along with Lead management. It is simple and quick for a consumer to enter information and obtain rates.

For more information please visit our Web site QQSolutions.com or contacts us at 800-940-6600.

Sincerely,
Product Management

ITC Turborater is a great comparative rater but it can yield incorrect rates with companies that are not real time or using their credit grabbing tool. ITC tends to work best with Non Standard companies and does not have some of the preferred/standard carriers available.

EZ Lynx does a screen scrape of every carrier you request the quote to go through. This will yield an accurate rate every time. EZ Lynx generally does not work with a majority of the Non Standard Carriers but it has most of the preferred carriers.

Primarily the better high tech non standards like Progressive, Bristol West and Mendota are on EZ Lynx. The non credit very high risk carriers will only be on ITC.

As far as online quoting most of the raters are rolling out website integration for customers to quote themselves on your website. Binding online is limited to a small number of carriers as mentioned on an earlier post.

EZ Lynx will run you $25 per line per carrier/month. ITC is a flat rate of less than $100 bucks a month for all carriers combined.

Hope this helps some.

Quomation has just started integrating their rater into agency websites so check them out too. Unfortunately they are not in the Southeast yet.
