$500 deductible with Geico(currently $700 for 2 cars -2012 Sonata)

Accident by hitting pot holes/curb on road on Tuesday the 8th.
2 tires/rims are gone beyond repair.

There might be additional damages but dealer cant tell until alignment is done.

Current cost is around $1300.

No previous accidents with 2.5 years of history.

Should I put in a claim? Do you think my premium will go up? For how much and how long? I assume 3 years? Is it worth the risk of another accident to skyrocket the premium within the next 3 years?

if you werent so cheap and got a policy thru an agent, you could call them and ask them, but since you chose the 800 route,

NO SOUP FOR YOU!

How old were the tires? Unless they were brand new you've got some consideration that way. You're probably talking about $800 top difference here. On something that small with tires, personally I'd probably just pay for it without filing the claim and risking 3-5 years of increased rates. That said, it'd have to be an average of $22/month more for three months to be a wash. That's assuming they pay the full rate for brand new tires.

tires would be depreciated for wear and tear, so you would still have money out of your pocket
