Do you have a business plan? As a new agent, any carriers that you are looking for an appointment with will be looking for a comprehensive business plan. Specifically, how do you plan to grow and how is the agency being financed.
On top of that, there are several administrative items that must be done, such as getting a business license, filing with the DOI, having your license (get a P&C license, not just PL), etc.
