Total for Policy Coverage

I have auto insurance with Allied. The charges listed on my policy include charges for my two vehicles and in addition there is a charge listed as "Total For Policy Coverages." It is $150 so it is no small charge. I have no idea what this is for. Does anyone know?

Not sure without seeing the bill, but likely, it is the coverages that are common to both vehicles, such as liability. Most carriers don't allow you to change the coverages on line items such as liability, so they lump the coverage together, then break out stuff like comp and collision, where the coverages can vary from one vehicle to the next.

I am guessing. I haven't seen an Allied breakout in a while and don't have one handy.

Don't most carriers have what is more or less a "minimum premium" or "fixed cost" for auto policies? I know Allstate did at least.
