I am assuming that you are looking for Aviation P&C but I would through in the fact that this article was in the latest issue of Life Insurance Selling: Life Insurance on Pilots: How to Get the Best Offer By Bill Fanning, Pilot Insurance Center, Addison, Texas
Hi folks, I'm starting an independent insurance agency and a good friend of mine, who's family has been involved in the sale of airplanes here in Santa Barbara and Ventura (southern california) for many many years, is considering getting into the sale of Aviation insurance as he has a large client list that he could potentially work. I offered to do some research for him on the matter. So far I've concluded that E&O could cost anywhere from 10 - 25k per year to write this type of coverage and that it would all be done through non admitted insurers. Can anyone add to this? He doesn't have a P&C license but as we all know that's the easy part, I'd be teaching him the basics of Insurance and learning aviation side by side with him. Can anyone put me in touch with a mentor or website, company that could help me figure this out with a little less of a learning curve? Also fact check me on the 10-25k E&O per year for a new agent's coverage? Thanks folks.
Wow, so No one has any clue of what carriers I should look into for Airplane Insurance? There's plenty of planes here in Southern California with all the wealthy people flying around in their 4.5 million dollar jets and I'm certain their all insured by someone or several someones. I've got a good line on the business and could really use to figure out who the carriers are so I can get started planning things with my potential partner.
