You gotta marvel at the way that Obama was not able to take his Acorn community organizer hat off and found it necessary to interject himself in the situation involving the Cambridge Police Department.
First of all, he should have stayed out of it and just said that "we need to let the local process determine what happened."
Second, he prefaces his unnecessary comments by saying that the defendant " is a friend of mine." Gee, now there's a little message to the Cambridge PD and any civil jury who may be looking at damages, if any, at some future date. The defendant is a personal friend of the President of the United States.
Third, Barry says "while I wasnt there and don't know what happened the actions of the Cambridge Police Department were clearly stupid." or words extremely similar to that. Hmmm. So much for a fair hearing for the police officer I guess.
Fourth, if Barry is so keen on bypassing the fact-finding and due process steps in this country why doesnt he use that as a force for good by hanging Barney Frank and Christopher Dodd out on the National Mall? Forgive me, I digress.
I used to live in Cambridge. Trust me. There are at least some folks there who are not all that upset about having the police respond to a call where a couple guys are shouldering into the back door of a residence trying to get the door to open. Yeh, things got a little out of hand. The black civil rights professor could have helped by keeping his frigging mouth shut and thanking the cops for protecting his house. Barry could keep his mouth shut too. Possibly the cop could have handled it better too. Don't know. Unlike Barry I would have to see some facts.
------------------------------------ Border Security: There is no way around it. Even complete amnesty will not do anything to keep the growing insurrection in Mexico - in Mexico. Two totally different issues.
Curious how there was a black police officer on the scene, and his account of what took place hasnt been been discussed ad nauseum. Guess what he had to say wasnt what the friendly folks at MSNBC wanted to air. Curious how Mr Crowley has been an police academy instructor on the subject of racial profiling.
I think Mr Gates is looking for some free publicity, and the people who believe his charges of racism arent going to have their minds changed regardless.
------------------------------------ The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire.

Why he felt the need to comment on it is beyond me. I know when you take the teleprompter away from him, his IQ drops about 60 points...but say the officer acted stupid is just crazy. Sometimes a non comment is the right thing to say. Instead Obama says something as stupid and sees his popularity continue to decline.
Bottom line is there are some protocols police need to follow. Even if he was breaking into his own home, it could have been a domestic violence situation. The police need to check things over and make sure things are OK. I am sure most of us have had situations with the police. You just keep your mouth shut and be polite. You threaten to sue the cop and you are going to get a ticket or arrested.
There is something about the concept of a teleprompter that really bothers me. It was developed by the TV news media to better trick the viewers into thinking the "news reader" (not journalist) actually had a thought in his head.
With Obama, he has at least two set up so that he can sweep back and forth giving even more of a dishonest impression that he is speaking from the heart, not from a canned script.
Whenever the teleprompter goes out, or he goes off script, the real Obama comes out.
And frankly the more comes out the more convinced I am that he really isn't very bright.
I always said that Clinton was the dumbest Rhodes Scholar to ever come down the pike. Outsmarted by a little Jewish girl with some jism on her dress. I think someone that relies to the extent Obama does on electronic idiot cards is going to trip himself up once too often.
We had a glimpse of this with Joe the Plumber and now with the police comment.

Much more to come, I think.
The other thing that is weird is that even when Barry tries to extricate himself from this Cambridge thing he is still giving a message that undermines law enforcement and the locals. Obviously the law professor is a professional victim and has already taken Obama up on his invitation to the White House. What the frig is Obama inviting him to the White House for if it is not that he has decided that the whole thing was just a racial, community misunderstanding. The cops are not saying that. They are saying he was a dildo and they arrested him but dropped charges. Obama has rewarded him by inviting him to the White House for a tea. Oy.
Note that I am not saying that Obama has to go brain dead and assume that racial profiling does not happen nor does he have to just support the police in a knee jerk response. He just needs to stay the fig out of it and not call the cops stupid on one hand, nor reward the complainant with a beer at the White House on the other hand.
If he sues for damages there's nothing like having the jury know that the Prez is rooting for you, eh?
Racial profiling when the neighbors call the police and say someone is trying to jimmy the back door of a house open? Find another example Barry. That dog don't hunt. Sounds to me more like an example of a black guy picking on the police with taunting comments rather than the other way around.
Let me just go ahead and say what needs to be said. I'm among friends, right?
I used to ride around with cops, I even used to be with the D.A.'s office for a brief time. I live in a city that is now about 50% black. However, the crime rate here (now second worst in the nation) is pretty much caused by exclusively by blacks. Let me just make up a statistic like Barry does, but this is based on observation: 92% of the violent crime here is by black perpetrators.
So, if you were a cop here (black or white) and someone called in an armed robbery, would you be looking at the white guy walking west or the black guy walking east?
I can just tell you, from reading the newspaper here daily, if they could just catch that "slim, black male about 20 years old" our crime wave would be over.
Incidentally, last week a "slim black male" tried to car jack a lady in my office parking lot in the middle of the day. Now I have to keep my 9mm handy at work.
The police, all of us, profile every day. We have to and I don't give a crap what the PC folks say.

Yeh, that was a nasty profiling situation there in Cambridge. The neighbors called in saying some guy was trying force open the back door of their neighbor's house. What did the cops do when they got there? Out of all the people in the city, they immediately zeroed right in on the one guy who was actually busy trying to jimmy the door open. Nasty. Just a real nasty case of profiling. Why, we are left to ask, did this white officer focus solely on the guy who was trying to break into the house after receiving a call that someone was trying to break into the house. Racism is the only possible explanation.
Now the Cambridge police are saying that the woman who called 911 didn't even mention race. She could not tell whether they were black or white since she saw them from the back.
Anyway, this reminds me of the movie "Superbad" where the cops are trying to get the 7-11 clerk to identify an armed robber without getting into race. Very funny, while at the same time pathetic.
