They don't have any plans worth offering. Only when clients beg do I put business with them and then they (client) complains. They have not been competitive in 3 yrs.

I appreciate that, however I like to say I work with the major carriers and would like to also say Blue Cross and like you explain why not to go there but if they insist to be able to do that.

I'm with Bob, they just haven't been competitive. The only individual business I have with them at this point is people who can't get insured. I do have a few groups with them.
To get appointed, contact Anitra Thompson-Howard at 404-848-2498. This information is taken from their "Broker's Contact List".
You need to be appointed with all the major carriers in your state - regardless of whether or not you're going to offer them.
Once again why I am looking to find out how to get Appointed in GA for BC/BS

"Although we are not an agency our members can obtain 100% independent top contracts with commission advances, if desired from carriers such as Aetna, Assurant, Golden Rule, Humana, GTL, World, etc."
And the founder of IHIAA states on this thread:
"You need to be appointed with all the major carriers in your state - regardless of whether or not you're going to offer them."
And
"I got in the internets and used the Google"
This last one in response to finding out who to contact in order to get contracted with BCBSGA.
In addition, IHIAA is coming to Georgia for a Lunch & Learn and they don't have contacts with maybe the biggest player in Georgia. That doesn't mean they are the best, but they are definitely the biggest.
Call me crazy, but I think it's important to know who the players are and how to get contracted if that is what your organization advertises. Especially when coming into that state to do a Lunch & Learn. Just one man's opinion.

Maybe it's because Health Choice One isn't an FMO/IMO for BCBSGA?

If IHIAA is going to promote such things, maybe they should KNOW something about the carriers in each state.
I disagree. What we promote is we will make sure you get top commissions - be independent and I specifically list the carriers where advances are available on my site. As you see, I do not list BX.
My main goal is agents don't get burned. I cannot tell you how many agents I've kept out of outfits offering 10% commission or agencies that only push one carrier...say Assurant in FL touting CoreMed at 10K deductibles wrapped with a UA accident plan.
Then you have the big "agency fee" scam - just pay us $250 and we'll train you. Or, you have reduced commish...but they'll give free leads. Yeah, they shave off 5% and give 20 horrible leads a week. Then the agent doesn't close the leads, the free leads get taken away and they're left trapped at 15%.
If agents want to go carrier direct that's fine - but that's also full of land mines. Go "direct" with Assurant for example and the RSD still determines comp which could be 15%.
