I think this article in the New York Times is more about holding Obama's feet to the fire, in order to keep him on the liberal agenda, than it represents the mainstream media beginning to question if Obama really is the messiah:

A quick check of the lefty web sites provides some predictable insight.
The general line is, "this isn't that big a deal, this isn't about Obama, it's about the economy. And since we all know that the only way to FIX the economy is via more spending and more government, it's obvious that we haven't done ENOUGH to grow the government and increase spending. So we need more, more, more."
The narcissism of political ideologues continues to amaze me.
I'd guess the more clear-thinking Dems, the Blue Dogs, will understand that the party has over-reached and may pull back a bit. We'll see.

They're still living "the dream". O'bamer got elected, they're in control of the house/senate and those facts alone act as a bright light in their eyes. They can't see... and that is okay. In addition they are frustrated that their dreams over the past 30 years aren't getting passed quickly. IMO they will still push hard on their agendas with little regard to what the people have told them via all forms of communication. Anything they don't get done by next November they won't get ever. That eagerness is their downfall.

Technically they control the house and senate however as we see nothing can get accomplished since the Dem party is split between fiscal conservatives and whacked out libs.

True. One of the reasons why Pelosi, Reid, and Obama are trying to demonize Repubs and insurance carriers is because they dont like the real headline story which is "Democrats Block Health Reform."
Or to put it another way, if even more dems had been elected would that help or hurt Obama at this point?

I know how much everyone just HATES Glenn Beck here, but I think this quick little snippet with John Fund of the WSJ sums it up fairly nicely, so that even libs can understand it:

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa...
I'm part of "everyone" and I like Glenn Beck just fine.
They demonize Glenn Beck hoping, HOPING, no one actually listens to what he says. Because if you listen to what he says, and if he starts to make sense, then you can no longer keep that peson enslaved on the Obama plantation.

Met with the head of SEIU 22 times at the Whitehouse, no less, compared to zero times with the Afhan theater commander. An interesting tidbit from a parallel universe.
