Hey everyone,

I have been doing some research on calling businesses on the phone and trying to set up some appointments. But being the rookie I am, I could not piece together a beginning statement if I tried. Also a couple of morsels from anyone on qualifying them on the phone. I am looking at small businesses, for health, disabilty and such.

Well as I said I am having diffculty putting something down. i guess with whom I am i want to do by best to try not to be to scripted, Want I think I am looking for is the qualifying questions i want to cover to get the information I need

#1 are they currently covered
#2 whos the carrier
#3 are they intrested in getting a quote and possibly saving money.
#4 set the appointment

This is very basic and reading here I know ask if they have time and ask for a call back if I need to call back..etc.etc

So if there is anything of the basics I need to add please fell free to throw it out there

Search this forum using the following words: Cold calling, scripts, telephone, prospecting, etc. I think you will find tons of helpful information. Also the follwoing books have good techniques: Prospecting Your Way to Sales Success by Bill Good and Secrets of Question Based Selling by Thomas Freese. There are a lot of other good books as well. I have also personally picke dup a lot of good script ideas from Topgunproducers.com.

I reseached this exact option for months and ran several BETA testing campaigns trying to figure it all out. I feel my company really has it down now with the help of many of hte memebers here. I can share with you some of my expiences so far and what I have learned if you would like to hear them.
