Howdy all. New to the forum and I greatly appreciate all the information shared here. I am curious if any of you have truly advertised on Facebook and I don't count plastering your homepage with insurance info marketing. I mean paying for either impressions or click-throughs. I have advertised on Facebook before with mixed results though it is pretty cheap. Anyone try this method? Thanks in advance,

Pretty cheap for the results you get? Or just pretty cheap? What kind of return have you seen from it?

Oooohhh I am here to. I guess I will answer a questions or two while I am here. The answer is facebook advertising can be excellent if you target correctly. The key is to track and go granular. Segregate age ranges, sex, college grad vs. non college grad, in a relationship vs. married vs. single. These are all different demographics that you must then analyze for performance to see which one has a positive ROI. You can do this by using a log program and adding referral subid's at the end of your ad url's for different demographic portions. For example if you were marketing widgets.com instead of the destination being Widgetbox › World's best place to find and make web widgets you would use Widgetbox › World's best place to find and make web widgets I know this seems long but you can see in your stats on your server how many visited and possibly converted if you have the right tracking software. I got no luck with it..People dont pay much attention on my thing they just go there basically to have fun..not to do business with us..

The entire point of social media is to drive traffic back to your site. If you try to sell people in social media on your product, service or biz op, they are turned off.

The key is to provide tremendous value, stimulate emotions in some way and get them to say in their head:

"Hey right now I am feeling good because of the knowledge and and useful information I am reading right now for free on this social media site. I wonder what else they can do for me? Oooh, what's this a link back to their site?

If your profile doesnt first GIVE something of value and its just screaming BUY or JOIN,

it will not hold visitors on the page long enough to discover the link back to your company site.
