Re: Captive Agent Sells Over 100 Policies A Month???Go to Top
I used to sell face to face when I was captive, and the most I have ever pulled off in 1 month was 50 submitted, 40 accepted, and that was with averaging 5-6 appointments a day, 6 days a week. Commissions were nice, but I dont think I will ever do that again, unless I really need the money

Stuff like, "just tell your boss that we're at the beach for a couple of days and you'll make the time up next week". The boss's response would be something like "oh okay, how about open up a can of shut the hell up or you're fired."
You don't know the other side of the story, and this girl's life could be in jeopardy, either that or she is off somewhere painting her nails and forgot about the forum.

The only guy I ever saw turn those types of numbers was a captive that had four full time telemarketers working for him. He had a small office and took any phone number he could get his hands on and had these people call and set appointments and he would just drive around and close them. Burned him out pretty bad though.

Sorry guy's I have been dealing with two elderly and ill parents. I thought the forum sent you emails to keep you up on your posts?? Anyway I have been away from work and plan on calling the guy this week. Do you think he will tell me? I am not anywhere near his territory so I see no reason for him to hold out on me....we'll see.

Maybe he'll require you to buy a policy from him to tell you his secret. Maybe that is his secret. He gets 100 insurance agents a month to buy a policy from him to find out his secret.

I hope not there is no way in h_ _ _ I would qualify for an individual policy, underwriting would have a field day with me.
Otherwise I might consider it !!!

Make sure you let us know once you talk to him. Although with writing that many policies he could be hard to get a hold of.

Maybe he is selling individual plans in a workplace setting. I have ran across several companies that wouldn't do payroll but would let you talk to the employees if they didn't have to mess with it themselves.
A couple of small groups would make 100 policies pretty quick with enough time to still go out and cold call. He may have had a contact before he started that let him come in and talk to the employees I have seen this happen. A friend of mine before he started the business worked with trucking companies and when he started insurance he got one to come on. Nation wide account Thousands of employees and he can still write a lot of business around open enrollment.
