Cheap Advertising             Go to Top

Some of you may recall that I have magnet signs on my vehicle.

I don't ask everyone how they got my name so I cannot tell you how many sales have come from the magnets.

I can tell you that the past ten months have averaged 50.1 hits per month to my site from the magnets.

Today a contractor was at my house, saw the signs and asked about group health.

At a cost of 90.00 I'm sure the ROI on the magnets has been fantastic.

Entire county is around 52,000. I live in the county seat and it's the largest town in the county. Rural.

I think it makes a difference where you live. When we were a smaller city people got to know who the plummer, taxman, Insurance man was. Now the city is at about 500,000 and the county in at 1,000,000.

In your area seems like it would be a good idea for people to get to know you as "the" insurance guy that they saw working with so and so. Kind of a passive referral.

As long as the do not see you parked to long at the local watering hole.

Re: Cheap Advertising             Go to Top

I'd post it if I knew how. I went to a health company website downloaded an ad they have, took it to my sign company, they scanned and converted to a magnet.

I do believe that it helps to have a well laid out, professional looking magnet.

What was the ad that you downloaded? You can just take the picture and attach it here. I would be curious to see what it looked like as well. I currently have one as well.

That's the beauty of magnets. You can remove the sign as needed . . .

How do you know you've received 50.1 visits per month from just the sign?

I am sure I posted this before, but word on the street is that Oleg (askoleg dot com) has a hummer fully wrapped in LA area and gets major business from that. It can work in metro areas as well.

I'm in southern California- Orange County, not sure how many million people live here. I have magnets on my truck. I sit in traffic every morning and afternoon- 40 minutes each way. Not one hit fom mine. I was thinking about a vehicle wrap, but those cost up to $5,000.00. So probably not

JNJ, You don't get it, I'm not technically adept. If I can get some film for my Brownie I'll try it.

Dgoldenz, That website is only advertised in one place, on those magnets. You just really could not find it otherwise.

Bob and WinoBlues, That gives me an idea. I could have magnets made with a competitors info and leave my vehicle parked at the message parlor.

You do realize there are only a handful of folks on this forum who know what a Brownie is.

No, not talking about the chocolate dessert or little girls.

I had a Brownie. A later model than the one you showed and cost more than a buck. Think I got is used for $12.
