I contracted with CIGNA direct and submitted my first case which was issued rather slowly. 3 weeks later and still no commission and no reply to email inquiries. Is this common when appointing direct with the carrier? All my other appointments are through FMO's.

Nothing out of the ordinary for Cigna. They are 3 weeks minimum to issue once a case hits underwriting.

Aetna is now in the same boat. My last few cases are taking a month plus and that is for a clean app. I was told they have an 11,000 app backlog they are working through.

Cigna pays subject to a minimum $25 (or maybe $50) check. They pay once a month. Got mine today.

It depends on when the policy was issued. If issued by the 20th of the month you should get paid after the first of the month following.

Going through an FMO won't improve your turn around with either of these carriers. Given the commission accounting problems with both, I would never trust an FMO to get it right either.

Ya buddy its true about CIGNA that it pays its agents every month because they have many app in backlogs!

I have got my pay yesterday almost after 3 and half weeks!

So dont worry they will pay you soon just wait!

I get paid 2 times a month from cigna....

You have been writing with them longer than me. Just found out from their rep they do indeed pay 2x per month. Maybe when I write my 2nd case with them I will find out for sure.
