Hi all,
I am an Indiana IA and am irate about how the CMMS is regulating my practice. Any thoughts on how to let them know this is painting everyone with a broad brush? I wonder if it is not an attempt to re-capture monies that were farmed out th private carriers in these tough economic times.

Even though it is the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services they go by CMS.

Have you been in the senior market for very long or did you just get into it to sell the PFFS plans?

The best way to let them know that their regulations are total crap is to do as I do, DON'T OFFER THE DAMN THINGS.

If you are not around them nor standing still for what they are trying to do to us then no matter how much paint they have on their brush they are not going to be able to "paint" you.

I don't like PFFS, haven't since I first heard about them and do not offer or sell them.

If you have been in the senior market for longer than a week then you should know that CMS is not CMMS. SOunds like a PFFFFFS guy.

Write your congressmen. After you write it, go to the closest fire place and toss it in. I suggest hand written notes, they have a tendency to burn faster and make prettier sparks.

Actually, the only thing they will pay attention to is a hand written letter, use your Big Chief tablet and a sharp crayon, from a constituent. If you can't vote for them then it will go in the trash. Don't waste your time writing to anyone else.

They get tons of pre-printed letters and post cards. Those go in the trash also.

On the state level if a representative or senator get as few as five hand written letters, typed is okay, with your complete contact information including phone number they will "sit up and take notice". Five letters on an issue is considered a lot of constituent input. Believe it or not! I have seen them change their vote.
