I know since this forum now has an official paying sponsor, I will probably soon be banned since I represent a competitor, but before I am booted, might I inquire as to why comments are no longer allowed on the pinned topic announcing Brokers Alliance as the official sponsor?
Is it because people might have some not-so-nice things to say about their experience with BA?
Is it because people might have found out that the old adage "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" remains true still today?
See, the problem is once you sponsor someone, you cannot criticize them. I listen to a popular radio talk show in Nashville, and guess what, when one of their advertisers is in hot water in the media, callers cannot get on the air to discuss it.
I personally know very little about this GA, I just found it curious to see the topic for discussing them was closed and there is no sign of the comments that were previously there.
I spoke with BA on Monday and they were to email me some info and mail additional info, haven't received anything as of today. Before considering them I would like to here more folks experience with them. Specifically folks that have been with them for some time

For the most part people have been able to post on this forum at will. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
That thread just happen to come at a time when the tag team fight was between rounds, and the fighters were looking for a way to keep loose.
I think you can count on two hands the amount of threads that have been locked, out of the thousands on this forum, not to bad. We may not always agree with the decisions.
But
He who has the remote wins.

I just completed the final stages of the univeral forum remote. THe first 25 members who send me a $150 money order will have access to all functions on all forums.
All of the comments to that thread, good and bad are still here, they are just consolidated into a new thread. You can feel free to comment on them in that thread, or start other threads such as this one.
Anyone can feel free to criticize the company, or any other company, but I will not have those threads degenerate into what they had become.
Yes, it has everything to do with the fact that they are a sponsor, and no, it is not up for discussion.
You will not be banned for criticism, and no one has ever been banned yet from the forum for criticism of myself or of any companies I have ever been involved in.
A simple look back at your posts could show that you are basically here to tout your company's services and drum up business. I hope you succeed. Lots of people have drummed up business here on the forum. You weren't banned despite your first posts violating our spam policy, and I don't expect you to be banned now either.
I like Broker's Alliance and I think they are worthy of my support. I don't expect you to like your competitors, but they are the forum sponsor and will stay that way.

I don't think we'll ever see competition getting banned from sponsored forums. In fact, you'd be surprised how often we form relationships with our competitors. The Insurance Industry as a whole has been built on relationships and partnerships where Agents, Agencies, IMO's and the like find ways to work together to not only increase the bottom line, but to increase awareness on important industry topics.
Brokers Alliance has been around a long time and we have many IMO/FMO partners who we work with to provide top level contracts, information, or just a little friendly exchange to find out what's new in our respective businesses.
I would like to encourage all forum members to email me or post all information (good and bad) about Brokers Alliance. We view the "bad" as an opportunity to get better...and of course, it's always nice to see the "good" to know we are on the right track!
It's more than just Service and Commission these days. There are many organizations to work with and we have made sure to provide more than just the basics. Service and Commission are the requirements of an IMO...making sure our brokers make a good living selling suitable products is our responsibility...providing over-the-top programs like the Elite Producers is where we step outside the box.
They promised the world and are very good people. I had two issues, one with an annuity and one with a life policy. Both were while the applications were in underwriting.
The annuity finally got issued without CMIC doing much more than telling me to be patient. CMIC was absolutely no help with the life underwriting. Went to another carrier and had a policy issued ultra-preferred. That's when I told CMIC to cancel all my contracts with them.
But they were of great help telling me which company to use. In other words, the sale was important - not service.

I am not sure why I am writing this other than I am frustrated with this forum and with Broker's Alliance. A little over 2 months ago I recieved an email from Broker's Alliance promoting a lead service called "Prospect Match". The service was to be described during a webinar. I listened to it and found it to very interesting. The fact that it came from Broker's Alliance lead me to believe that they had done research on the company and would not endorse something that was not legit. I was very excited to start this new lead generation program. The idea behind this program was to send out "free" booklets to people that had requested them online and to follow up with them after sending the booklet. I did this for two weeks and recieved 15 leads and called every single one of them. I recieved 3 booklets back in the mail that send "return to sender" or "fraud" written across the envelope. The others I spoke with the people on the phone. Not one person had requested this booklet! They had no idea what I was talking about. Then I proceeded to do what I should have done in the first place. I researched the company. I found threads on this very forum from others who had been scammed by this "false" lead generation tactic. There was a mention of Larry Klein who started a company called NF communications which had folded by using these same tactics. Also, how Javelin Marketing, which owns Prospect Match, was the producer of the same booklets that NF had used. I felt a sense of relief that I would not continue to go forward with this program and that I had only invested a couple of hundred dollars in this. My frustration with this forum is that yesterday I went to find these posts again and they had been removed. I don't understand why this happened? Does broker's alliance know that Prospect Match is not supplying quality leads? Either way I spoke with Broker's Alliance yesterday and aired my concern. My opinion is if they are going to put there name behind a service they should make sure it is a quality one. I have put my business through Baker Associates which is now part of Brokers Alliance. I have also put some through Broker's. I am considering not doing so in the future. I do realize because it is a negative opinion this post will be removed.
