Mr. B is sorta like China these days. Ouch, that hurts. Never thought anyone would confuse me with the communists....

All well and good... but the purpose of the post (and most of the content in it) was to get agents to buy your product. From my history here, those kinds of postings are supposed to go to the offers section. When they are not, they are considered spam... except I guess in your case.

Did Sam establish this forum out of the goodness of his heart, or did he have a profit motive? I think it is a tremendous service to the insurance community to have a place like this to discuss/debate, but can you say that Sam does not derive any financial benefit from it? And if he does, does that make the entire forum "spam"?
Wow, I know that conservatives have difficulty with logical constructs ("I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!" B. Goldwater) but this is really a stretch (and not exactly coherent!) Anyway, what a list owner does is above any law or rule. He or she can do what they want and are absolved. List owners by long-standing internet tradition (going back to listserv days, followed by BBS systems) rule by divine right.

Of course not. That is not spam and it doesn't come close to any definition of spam.
I don't think you have the first clue of what is or what isn't spam... or you would never have started this thread.

And you Al, can you assure us all that you have never derived a penny of revenue as a direct or indirect result of your postings on this board?
I can't think of one. You've only been here a few months as opposed to the years that I and the rest of your conservative brethren have. But having seen my postings and having seen what others say about (and to) me here, do you think for one neo-con minute that anyone here is ever going to send ME a referral? Get a clue, Robert. I can say (with pride and honor) that of those who are the charter subscribers to this board (when Sam took it over from the other one we were all on) that I'm by far the most disliked member on it. There is not one person on this board that I know of that is more reviled than moi. Name one other person in this venue who has stood steadfastly to a liberal/moderate political and social agenda and who has not been afraid to speak truth to power (to men like you who are icons in the industry) ... who has not been driven away! You honestly in your heart of hearts think anyone HERE is going to send ME a lead or a referral? Talk about difficulty with logical constructs!

I cannot trace one single penny of revenue to this board or anyone in it. But that's OK. You see, with me, unlike the neo-con population here, it's not just about the money.

And do you routinely chase after "spammers" as you have wrongly defined them, whenever and wherever they appear on this board,
Yes, I usually "pile on" with all the others who comment on the occasional spammer. Of course none of those spammers have the power, prestige, and contact-base that you have... which is one reason that I think no one except me and two others stood up to be counted. Another reason, is that like you... they saw your post as informational. They liked it... and have tacitly given you approval to post more threads in the same genre. As I said earlier... YOU WON. What part of that don't you understand. (Let's try it a different way. I LOST. There, does it sink in now?)

or do you have an ulterior motive for being so diligent about pursuing me?
You really think that, don't you! Yes, Robert. That's all I have to do all day is to find clever and ingenious ways to "pursue" you on this board. It's true I don't like you... but don't get so swell-headed about it. You're just one of 10,000 arch/neo-cons I don't like here. You're really not that special to me.

Honestly. All I can say is what I said earlier to you Robert. You won... you should take your victory graciously and with some dignity... as opposed to insulting my intelligence with such a ridiculous accusation.

Al - You spend a great deal of time pointing out that Sam runs this forum and you disagree with much of it. But you remain here.

I know you like to bitch and moan, but can't you just let anyone else have the last word? Ever?

Let's reviews these "offers" you are so concerned about:

FREE listings at www.term4sale.com

FREE 4 month subscription to Compulife for first time users.

FREE 4 month subscription to Compulife's new web quote service for web sites.

No obligation to buy anything.

I really am out to exploit people on this board, what do you think?

That's not the point. As I understood it these past years we're not supposed to post advertisements on the board. That's why there is the Offers section.

But I guess either I was wrong or that policy has changed... since your advertisement is still standing and only a couple of people have spoken out about it.

I assume it opens the door for recruiters from NAA to post advertisements about their company, for GAs to post advertisements about their services, and every software company and quote-engine vendor (like you and Norvax and Quotit, etc.) to post ads on their products as well.

You don't get it. You WON.

Be happy.

I don't know you and I already think you'll be fun to have a drink with.

I've chuckled several times this week because of you.

Rick's fun to have a drink with but has a bad habit of heading to the bathroom when the check hits the table.
