I have a client who has two previous employers, one he was released from in January of 2009, the first he was released from August of 2008.

Since January, he's been on the first one's COBRA. Well, their rates are going up $300. He wants to switch to the second companies COBRA going forward.

Can he?

Secondly, can he drop the health benefits, but keep the dental plan?

Actually with the new cobra rule he might be able to switch.

He should get documentation from the Cobra admin explaining his options.
