I love Dean... He really helped my production. I now write about 400 apps per week from the comfort of my home. I started as an underwear agent before Dean's system, so now I work completely nude. I'm happy to upload pics of me hard at work if anyone would like to see them...

I bought his life insurance system and thought it was fantastic. His follow-up letters and ads were very good. I've used them to capture sales from people who didn't buy or return mailed apps.
His marketing is outstanding. I originally didn't buy. He sent me a box with a pair of underwear stating I could make $ sitting in my underwear at my kitchen table. It was a unique USP and made him stand out. I still didn't buy so he sent me a silver platter stating his system could deliver prospects to me on a silver platter. I still didn't buy so he sent me a frisbee stating if I didn't buy it would be like tossing away sales. Give the guy credit. Great marketing.
The problem is his marketing costs double what you could do with another mail company or fax blast (it's not legal anymore). So, buy his course but do your marketing (mail, radio, newspaper inserts, etc) with another firm.
I also bought his annuity course but thought it was average.
Or you could go to places like LifePro an Agency (plus many others) that specializes in Annuities.
LifePro specializes in life insurance with annuities being secondary. They are big on Missed Fortune. Asset Marketing Systems in San Diego specializes in annuities and writes @ $3 billion a yr in annuities.
Did you know that Wendy's has a great burger for a dollar?

Thank God for Dave R.I.P. I love the #2 combo. I wonder if Dave would have liked Dean? He might have inspired a "Spam sandwich combo meal." I crack myself up.
I have used his system with success but found the conference calls and follow-up monthly email "tips" to be mostly sales pitches to purchase additional super expensive marketing-based services (mailers, voicemail set-up, radio ads, etc) that I found to be much less costly by doing it myself.
Plus I just found out that I'm being charged $197 MONTHLY
Just for the priviledge of such "support"!
I am now selling the system for way less than what I paid for it if anyone is interested, but doesn't have the funds to/ doesn't want to purchase new. Feel free to email me.
Honesty however the marketing techniques I learned really did produce a more positive response from potential clients and led to more sales. I do think that if I worked the system more I would have done even better, but can't say for sure.
I would have liked to have seen more substance in the "ongoing training and support" and not feel like I was being sold at every turn, nickled and dimed to death.
No Deans stuff doens't work, I tried it and another agent friend tried it. Something strange when you only get responses from 1 zip code out of 5 I requested. Then the drip marketing stuff and the cost to you to have listen the the voice messages, cost to you to have them transcribed, cost to you to have the, yes, E-MAILED or faxed. Frankly I got 1 appointment for the $3,500 I invested not to metion the 800 number and other add in cost for the 'system'. The person making $$ is Dean.
Alright, I have a confession. I too have bought Deans system. At first I used it as a door stop. But after a few months, I figured I had better dig into it and see if it worked or not before the guarantee expired.
The first time I used one of his newspaper inserts my phone rung off the hook. It was a Tuesday morning, and by 1:00 in the afternoon, I had 53 leads that called my office. Now I'm not going to sugar coat it either. Not everything that I have tried in his system has worked that well. But I am hooked on the emotional response marketing that he teaches.
And I can see where it wouldn't be for everyone. It does take some patience. And when a marketing flops, it can be frustrating. But I can honestly say, I have had more victories using Dean's system over the past 3 years than I had with any prospecting method or technique prior.
Are there any businesses out there besides this cipriano that has the 800# for an auto response system?

He does fax blast to agents. I get one of his faxes at least weekly.
Anyone's marketing methods will work if you apply them. If you want to follow Don Lapre's pitch and place tiny ads in classified sections it will eventually work. Same thing for standing on a busy street corner handing out flyers or business cards.
Anything that get's your name, and your service or product in front of the public will work. Some generate a better return than others, but they all will eventually get you prospects and someone will buy.
My most effective marketing tool is referrals. They take a long time to develop but my referral sources come thru with solid prospects almost every time. Referrals cost me nothing other than my time and my closing ratio is rather high.
I passed a referral off to one of the board members here a few weeks ago. The lady lived in another state where I was not licensed. Got a nice note from the agent thanking me for the referral. He said he wished all his clients were like that.
I make nothing off that. Maybe some day he will have the opportunity to return the favor, maybe not. Maybe some day the lady who called me will find someone in GA looking for insurance and will send that person my way. Maybe not.
If you want to spend hundreds, or even thousands on a marketing system you will eventually find prospects and make sales. I know some folks that spent several thousand on a seminar system a few years ago. They still do 3 - 4 seminars a year at a cost of $7000 - $10,000 per seminar. The system works for them and will probably work for you. I should tell you the first year they barely broke even, spending close to $20,000 for the system and promoting the seminars. By the second year they did better and they have been doing the seminars now for probably 5 years. They work quite well but most folks wouldn't have the funds, nor the persistence, to keep working the system.
And this . . .
The folks selling the system make far more than most agents that buy their system. The reason is, the folks who buy the system never follow through while the system marketer is still out there years later with his same pitch. Probably 80% or more who buy the system will ever make a profit from it.
So which group will you be in? The 20% who like the sytem and make it your own or the 80% who want to say it is a ripoff?
I understand what you're saying about referrals, however, i am just starting out in the annuity business and don't have the advantage of clients and then referrals. I'm looking for something to attract attention, have someone call about an ad, and then follow up. I don't trust his program. I understand emotional ads and just need to find a good auto response sytem with an 800# for interested parties to call.

James,
Can you lead me to some sites or phone #s that offer this stuff for free. I'm new and need to get going and marketing seems better to me than cold calls.
Thanks
