Interesting defense, but hardly accurate. Of course it is easy for you to comment on the possible success or failure of others... when you post from under a cloak.
You are in Tampa. (Is someone from Tampa... a Tampon?) So tell us your name and that of your agency and we can do some checking. We can call the local reps of the carriers you write and see if they know you and/or your agency. Tell me. I'll make the call.
As for you, call the Shield and Anthem and Aetna reps in my area and ask if they know me. Ask if I place any business with them. They won't give numbers but they will probably give you an idea.
Or maybe call some of the local SAHU officers. They are listed somewher on the NAHU site (or maybe CAHU, I forget.)
Before you "tag" someone as a failure you should do some research.
I'm probably not as successful as you and Rick and Frank, but that is a matter of degree. I'll let YOU define "success." I'll choose integrity and honesty over success any time. And I surely can't ascribe either to someone who attacks people from under a cloak. Tell us who you are, where you are, and exactly how successful YOU are before you cast aspersions on others.
Oh, silly me. I forgot. This is the internet. We can say anything we want.

Boy, ya gotta love folks that talk out of both sides of their mouth.
Let's talk about "tagging"...
Generalized statements such as yours that cast agents as do nothing, money-grubbing whores ("greed, selfishness and avarice" - ring a bell?) doesn't apply I guess?
On the failure side, I'm making observations based on your posts. I probably don't have it exact, but haven't we read many posts detailing your frustrations/complaints with among others; worksite marketing, IFP, Mutual of Omaha, and is Mass Mutual the lastest one?
Maybe it's time to look for a common thread.
As for the "cloak of secrecy", I have been an active member of this forum for well over two years now. I was here long before you got here, and I'll be here long after you're gone. I count many of the members of this forum as trusted friends and business confidantes. You're not one of them. They all know my info. Several of them even refer clients to me.
Other than that, I owe you nothing. I'm not the one on here moaning and whining about the business, the markets, the companies, the agents and whatnot ad nauseum.
Lastly, honesty and integrity have been the cornerstones of my practice that have allowed me to last and thrive for over seventeen years. I've had, and will have frustrations and complaints about this business...but learned a long time ago they don't change a single thing. The truth of the matter is that I've forgotten more about the insurance business than you know.
I have never had a client that wasn't better off after working with me. I've managed to EARN a good living as well. Your constant denigration of anything having to do with this business is old and tired. I take it personally.

Guys like you measure everything in money. That is your only gauge of success. And it is why you will eventually fail in this business... because you are afraid to take risks, to try new things... even entertain new ideas.

If you say so... but what does that prove? Anyway you post from the shadows so you can say anything you want and no one can dispute it.

Sure. And I'm the Easter Bunny. Who are you talking to here? Your mom? Get a grip.
I would hope to hell not. I only deal with people of intelligence, good character, honesty and integrity. Guys like you who come on to forums like this in anonymity for the simple pleasure of beating the crap out of others... lack all of the above.

Yeah, I know. It's all about YOU. I have no doubt you are in person how you are in this venue. I have no doubt that you intimidate the hell out of the clients that you purport to help. I'm a senior. I can see how effective you would be to people of a certain age and older. Sure. You owe me nothing... because I know the truth about you... and I'm not asking or expecting anything in return for telling it.

Read the paragraph earlier... about honesty etc.. And why only 17 years? I mean you're cloaked. No one is going to know. Let's make it 25 or 30. If you are going to lie, go for the big lie. More people will believe it.

I don't dispute that. But all your product knowledge will not make up for your lack of honesty and integrity.... and most importantly your lack of any ability to accept or deal with people who are "different" from you... who dare to disagree with you.
I see you for who you are and no doubt clients and other agents do as well.
You know, if you are all that you say you are, why not come out in the open and let us check you out? What do you have to hide... or fear?

You do? Why is that? I'm some kind of threat to the oh great and mighty agent from Tampa? You take it personally for the same reason you post autonomously. You don't have the intellectual ability to present a concise, logical, and convincing argument... you can't attack the message... only the messenger... and you can only do that from the shadows.
Come out. Tell us who you are... if you dare.

The above is a comment usually made by people in defense - because they aren't making any...

Nope, you missed again. Don't work the "senior market".

First of all, you don't really mean "good luck" at all. Let's be honest here.
Second, if after some 60 years of living I've not had this "break" before, what gives you the idea idea that somehow I'm headed for it.
With the intellectual abilities (actually the lack of) that some of you folks exhibit in this venue, I simply don't understand how you can grasp and/or understand the intricacy and complexity of financial products.
Couple that with your self-centered, xenophobic "tude" I can't figure out who would buy from you?
Maybe it "works" in the rural South or in unsophisticated areas, but you'd get your butt handed to you in an upscale area in New York, California, Illinois, Virginia, Maryland, Mass., CT, Georgia, etc.
So Winter, when a client disagrees with your case design, you tell them that they are headed for a "psychotic break?" How does that work for you?
I once sold cars. I thought the auto industry had some really stupid people in it. But some of you in this industry and on this board make the car jocks look like Rhodes Scholars.
Have you noticed that the really stupid guys go to great lengths to keep their identity under cover... while the rest of us who are just plain, everyday stupid are "outed."
Maybe they are not so stupid after all! They can post what they want and have no reputation to worry about. And "we" take them seriously. Yeah, maybe they really aren't so stupid after all. They just sound like they are.

I don't suppose you could be "done" with this forum as well? Fortunately not many "real people" (clients) read this board. You give the rest of us a bad rep by your incessant attacks and displays of intolerance.

It's surely not YOU, that I'm certain of. You're a coward and you deserve to be treated like a coward... and at least from me... you are.
You and Winter and the three or four others who come here under a cloak and post the most hateful and vicious attacks are to be despised. You're the Internet's incarnation of the KKK. Instead of hiding under sheets and hoods you carry out your cowardly acts by posting anonymously.
You give all of us in this industry a bad name. I wish Sam did not allow cloaking, but that is his call and I won't fight him on it. I would not allow it. You would not be allowed to say the things you say without others knowing who you are... and where you are.

"We" know who you are and no one takes you seriously.
By the way, why do you post here? Hardly anyone agrees with you and no one wants you around.
What positive do you have to add to this forum?
Clearly it's not your great knowledge of insurance. Hell, you're the guy who was either too ignorant to too cheap to get your wife a med supp and instead put her in an inferior (by your own admission) MA plan. (By the way, did you finally learn that she can get a Med Supp on a GI basis probably every January?)
You have nothing to add here except to call me a bully, when in reality you are the bully but are too bitter to see that.
When are you going to do the 1st right thing you can do since somehow passing the insurance test by saying goodbye and take your drivel somewhere where it's wanted?
Rick
P.S. Let's all hope that you post a long winded, "holier than thou" response.

One mission of mine is to to stand toe to toe against a bully like you, in an effort to one day get you to understand that you can't beat everyone in the school yard. If no one else has the balls to stand up to your crap, fine. But I do. And I will. Today, tomorrow, the day after that... whatever it takes.

Plus you seem to have an unnatural interest in being able to identify and locate other forum members. Take a guess as to why some people prefer to remain anonymous. It's because every forum has nuts that are about to go postal and would love to have other people's addresses. Not saying this applies to you but you could do more to not act that way. Having someone chiding you into giving their name and address and also telling you that they are your worst nightmare has never been a good combination in my book, especially if they are on a mission from God to clean up the industry and spread the Truth. Must be Huckabee's fault.

Your point is well taken... there ARE nuts out there. But that does NOT give you the excuse to post the kind of hateful, intolerant trash that YOU do. You should be held accountable for what you post about other people... either by virtue of making your comments public or in a court of law.
You and the other anonymous "drive by" hitmen here are just like the hooded Muslim extremists who want a public venue to to behead those whom they "disagree" with... but don't want to face the responsibility for it.
You want to beat the crap out of someone without the responsibility of perhaps someone showing up at your door and beating the crap out of you! That makes you a coward. That's what you are. For all your high-minded neo-con, god-love America rhetoric, you are just a little coward.
I'm not a coward. You can easily find where my front door is. I take responsibility for what I write and as such I try to write responsibly. I don't always measure up to my own standards much less yours or anyone else but I'm not a coward about it. (And to his credit, Rick isn't either.)
I stand behind what I write. Rick stands behind what he writes. I'm not a coward like you. He is not a coward like you. Do you see the difference between us? I doubt it.
