Return on Postcard Mailers

Why is a Dm campaign where you have them mail back a lead card preferable to sending out a postcard asking them to call for info? It seems like it would be more work for the prospect to have to drop off the mailer. Just curious about the rationale. Thanks in advance.

There is a hell of a lot more commitment when they mail something back in. The one thing I will catch sometimes when they call in is that its a quicker turn around if they are really interested.
 
Thanks for the insight. I provide retirement benefits to several organizations and I've done that for the last few years and cross sell life and LTC. I'm looking to diversify my lead flow. I'm cruising the forum trying to get some ideas. I just thought postcards would offer an easier and superior lead but I think I understand the justification for getting a lead card.
