Always thinkin' 'boutcha feet, ain'tcha!
My Lenovo crashed a coupla times, had to restore, antivirus never worked right, so got the free stuff, thing started running so slow I gave it to my parents (they just surf, email, and facebook).
My small Dell laptop got gummed up so I loaded win2k on it, I just use it for illusions (if I hafta), still don't trust it. So...
I keep the large Dell as a backup, which got gummed up too, so loaded win2k on it for illusion software (again, only if I hafta). More often than not, the video card won't kick in, have to reboot, sometimes several times. But it's a backup. Got little external monitors to make the client feel real special on them illusions (if I hafta). Most times just do what needs to be done on a manila folder and take a check, cash, or money order, please. Thank you. Process. File.
My HP desktop went blind, the video card just quit, I think the CD DVD drives were still working though, let my nephew scavenge it for parts and memory. Man, it had everything on it! Funny, I don't miss any of it.
My Compaq just went kerplewy the other night after a thunderstorm and electrical outage. Won't boot. Had lost the CD and DVD functionality awhile back. And ACT would not upgrade due to some "fatal" database error, so had moved it all to Outlook a while back (whew!). Thankfully had Outlook synced via Plaxo so I have all my contacts on my Indie box, which I promptly PRINTED OUT. Email quit working on that box tonight. It never would install XP sp3. I can hit the Internet (email), so.....I'm good y'all, see below.
[Had my eye on an Apple but they's too pricey and already do an apple a day to keep ole doc away, and an app a day to keep ole bill away.]
I use cards (in boxes), a planner, and a pencil and pen, and, oh yeah, a cell phone and a car and a suit and I tend ta wear out
ma shoes. I have never been more relaxed in my life. I feel like greased lightnin'! And I Luuuuuuv the heat!
My clients are safe in plastic boxes, and so long as the roof don't leak on my paper planner, my clients and calendar should remain intact. I've also got a long, steel card box with company name and handle on the end that my uncle gave me a long time ago with a lock on the front, so I can actually lock my clients up if I want to.
I've learnt a whole lot 'bout what I don't need, so's I can learn what others DO need, and heck, I ain't barely over 50 year old yet.
Chumps, hope this helps ye in yer computer thinkin' buddy!
