Does Anyone Have Experience with the SmartChoice Agency Program

I am starting an independent agency and I have been thinking of brokering through the Smartchoice Agency Program. If anyone has knowledge about Smartchoice or has experience with them please reply back.

What focus are you going to have P&C or Life/Health? I think they are primarily P&C. I had looked at them as well - but chose to go another route since my focus is on Life/Health/Annuity markets.

My focus is on P&C. I have been a captive agent for 5 years.

From what I understand Smart Choice is a spin off of either terminated or retired captive agents that have found piece of mind being independent in the real sense and not just being sold a bill of goods as many IA's have by some of the major captive agency companies.

Smart choice seems to want 30% of what you produce up to $15,000 per year but, you have your own contract.

I believe they are often touted by the NAPAA (National Association of Professional Allstate Agents).
